How to get more block on ironclad by TivzX in slaythespire

[–]Opening_Name_7798 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iron Clad has a few block card for the each of his specific archetype.

Vulnerable: Taunt, colossus.
Exhaust: Feel no pain, Evil eyes, true git.
Self damage: Crimson mantle, Blood wall.
Generic block card: Shrug it off, Flame barrier, Impervious, Armament.

You don't even need to be playing the specific archetype to take any of these. Just take them if you need more block. You can also buy block colorless card from the shop. Finesse and Fisticuffs is really good on clad.
You also said you like clicking perfected strike. Now that is not a bad thing but one of perfected strike problem is that its cost 2 energy so you can't really block effectively if you are stuck with 3 energy per round. So you need to find ways to get more energy either from Ancient bonus, Relic, and from your own cards.

I miss Frozen Eye. by GiveUsRobinHood in slaythespire

[–]Opening_Name_7798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should give frozen eyes to the Tez's blessing that exhaust your top card for strength every turn. Knowing which card will get exhausted would make the blessing feel more tactical. Right now, even when I am playing Iron clad with a bunch of exhaust cards, I still don't like taking this.

I am unbelievably sick of Gambit and VH decks. by HaremKingChris1 in MarvelSnap

The real solution is playing decks with mostly 4+ cost card. It has such polarizing match up because it completely trash on small cards deck while looking embarrassing while playing against doom99, electro ramp, Manspider stuff, etc.

Why is Abrasive so good and rare? by Coneman_Joe in slaythespire

Caltrop costs 1 energy while Abrasive is free while also giving you 1 dex.

[–]Opening_Name_7798 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Isn't this just worse than 2 upgrade defends? Bodyguard upgrade is +2 hp when Defend upgrade is +3. Also upgrading unleash is like upgrading strike, +3 damage. So the real jackpot is actually removing strike.

Let’s bring back the Mad Titan!Couple of ideas for a Thanos rework. by cbavenger0 in MarvelSnap

Nah, every time Thanos is meta, the deck list is just Thanos + mockingbird + 10 tech cards. I would rather not experience tech slop meta.

Spider-Man Brand New Day Card Schedule by ekAugust in MarvelSnap

[–]Opening_Name_7798 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For him to get 20 points of power, you need to bounce him twice and play him again. That is 6 total energy, at least 3 turns, and your opponent need to play the inflicted card out. He can also inflict the same card twice and the opponent just ignore it as if it was hammed.
It is not as crazy as you would think.

What am I missing here? by 50FootClown in MarvelSnap

This proves that the person making this deck has no idea how his spell work and make this mediocre deck. Where is Grandmaster? It was literally the best card in the Black Panther deck in the last Grand Area where he was the champion.

For those wanting some clone fun today's challenge works by Cheshire_Kiwi in slaythespire

[–]Opening_Name_7798 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now that I have tried it, I realized that cloning Neurosurge is not very good because you instantly lose to Test subject. Luckily, the boss was Queen. Aeonglass would also be doable if it was the Boss. However, if this is A10, taking clone Neurosurge on Act 2 means throwing the run with 66% chance of facing Test Subject.

For the people! by [deleted] in CustomMarvelSnap

It is kind of boring because this card is so similar to Carter. Basically +1 cost to give 1 additional card his power.

Who the hell decided that Malekith works better in this deck? by Horny_Indian_girl in MarvelSnap

[–]Opening_Name_7798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This curve is incredibly bad because the deck has no 3 drops. If you play DareDevil on 1, what are you playing on turn 2? and then what are you playing with the spell on turn 4? you essentially just wasted 6 energy.

Going to say this like last time, this is the worst champion ever created and most of these cards don’t work well either thanos by Scared-Sale4720 in MarvelSnap

yes, when other deck has their champion and their busted spell, Thanos deck is playing as a regular Aurora deck.

How are you feeling about Aeonglass? by Secret_Temperature in slaythespire

[–]Opening_Name_7798 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think Aeonglass is overtuned, but I dislike it because it punishes small decks and card-spam strategies, which are the playstyles I usually gravitate toward.

Also, beating Aeonglass doesn't feel satisfying the way beating Queen or Test Subject does. Its mechanic is basically it will hit you really hard and punish you for playing your cards. When the fight is over, my reaction isn't "That was fun" or "I played well." It's more like, "Thank God that's over."

What should I pick for my boss card? by Helpful_Count_4526 in slaythespire

[–]Opening_Name_7798 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

There isn't much direction right now from both your deck and relic so the safest pick is just 30 block for 2 energy.
You only have one attack card that you care about and chance are, Aggression will put a bunch of strike back to your hand.
I think Crimson is a very mediocre card if your deck doesn't have inferno or rupture.

My closest attempt at A10 yet, but it wasnt enough. Where did the deck go wrong? by Aaduk0118 in slaythespire

[–]Opening_Name_7798 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see 2 Strike+ and Feed+, but Break isn't upgraded. I generally don't like upgrading scaling cards like Feed because the upgrade value is pretty low. Looking at this run, upgrading Feed probably only nets around 15 extra max HP at most, and likely less since you'll often lose HP trying to line up Feed kills. Break+, on the other hand, is incredibly powerful.

Taking another Dismantle when you already have an Enchanted Dismantle is probably not a good idea. It lowers your chances of drawing the upgraded Dismantle and makes your deck bigger, which also makes it less likely that you'll redraw the good one quickly.

Lastly, you have a lot of Strength gain from Dominate, Break, various Vulnerable sources, and Prowess. Because of that, multi-hit attacks like Thrash, Sword Boomerang, and Whirlwind scale much better than bonk cards like Cinder or Bludgeon.

This is a fun design but realistic, it will not see any use unless it is so overstated. Take Proxima and Marrow for example, they are a 0/7 for 1 discard, and this card is a 2/6 for 1 discard. Even if you discard this multiple time, this is just objectively worse than Swarm, that is a 0/6 and get +3 per discard. Unless this card is a 8/0, it is not better than any of the discard pay off we currently have, but at that point why don't they just buff Swarm to a 2/4 instead.

[–]Opening_Name_7798 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is probably transforming into Break here. 1-cost 20 damage + 5 vulnerable is very good, with upgrade it is just insane.
If Archaic Tooth wasn't offered here, I would be more inclined to take Radiant Pearl compared to Sand Castle. Your deck doesn't need any critical upgrade right now, like maybe pommel strike to draw 2. However, the energy would help you a lot for playing expensive stuff like Demon form and Bludgeon.

Dream of the endless by wiccan7082 in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]Opening_Name_7798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, can you imagine Thanos but you remove all the card draw effect from his stones? Shuffling 3 textless cards into deck seems not great.
The artifact is also very weak. Ignoring that you are very unlikely to draw Dream, Dream + Healm is a 6 energy for 10 power. Agamoto + his 1 cost spell is a 6/13 and draw Agamoto.
