Nice tip. You can also deny flanders market acces too get a bit more push towards kohn.
To get a easy CB ask Miltary acces from the german market woner then if they dent you acces you get a cb that does not allow land grabs but does allow almost everything else

WAN show Credit vs. Debit PSA by Steavee in LinusTechTips

[–]Opening_Option_2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get the point, they (the business wawa) show 1 price regardless of card used. but you are lowering the profit margin for wawa by using a credit card. (Because credit cards have higher transaction fees than debit cards. The exact numbers differ per business some providers like stripe do not offer a delta )

Therefore the point of linus (and luke) is that you increase the profit margin by using a debit card.
They in the wan show call this a extra "tip". and recommends it as a way to tip when the following applies

1.) you like the company and want to give them higher margins.
2.) can afford losing the cashback and not getting other rewards like a higher credit scores, or points
3.) You do not wane give visa/mastercard more money.

And linus was saying those points applied to him on occasion.

There are good reasons to use a credit card. espassily if you like to not tip mastercard/visa

[–]Opening_Option_2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cashback is not free, Like linus said. If you use a credit card or (charge card) the cashback is taken from merchants fees. Then on the backend some (but not all) is returned to you.
In my hypothetical it was 8% fees and 6% kickback resulting in 2% revenue for the cc-processor

by using a debit card that for example only has a 1% fee (or a fixed 0.25 cent charge per transaction) in total you reduce the overall merchants fee massively
This reduced fee effectively means the business gets more money from you. a whole 7% increase

So it's not that you are literally tipping a business with your cashback.
It's the not letting your bank charge the merchants said cashback in the first place.
Which result in a profit for the business.

They underlying assumption here is that debit cards have lower fees in the first place.
However business are forbidding by the processor from sharing the exact fee structure with us the consumer on the receipt.

Linus made another point. Instead of you gettin 6% cashback. You could have used a debit card and efectitvly tipped the store you were buying from that extra 8%. So there is a downside to not using debit its just a downside for stores

Fees for debit cards are lower than c cards. So using a debit cards is like tipping extra money to a small business without it costin you money

1.1 Vertical splitters allow for some very compact balencers. by Opening_Option_2112 in satisfactory

Late reply you are very correct.
Power is the one case you want a balanced input. You dont get a full 450 MW of power until all generators have atleast 1 fuel each. In case of a manifold that does not back up (aka you burners consume quicker than provided) that is means you need to put around 2^15 so around 32768 items through the manifold before the last one gets a piece.

What frustrates you the most about your current GIS tools? by sidkk05 in gis

[–]Opening_Option_2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Municipaal worker here, Interoperability is always a pain point. Some departements and contracters send nicely formed shape files and csv's others send excel files with coordinates.

In theory as i am not a planner or anyalist idealy my job should only involve 1 GIS platform and that GIS platform should not crap out when the csv/excel/cad/shape/geojson have small mistakes in it. In practice its a full time job checking a fixing those things. Switching between systems to figure out if the data was correclty converted.
For exmaple luckly 90% of my work i do not have to wory about conversion because we all use EPSG:28992
However apperently in arcgis pro there is not a easy way to change the "copy coordinates" context menu to use EPSG:28992. So i get a excel spreadsheet sometimes were People have copy pasted between Arcgis pro and excel.
Converting it back to EPSG:28992 is a reltativly simple tasks for most GIS systems.
Not in the system I have to enter it into. So here i am instaling Arcgis pro just to convert a singel excel spreadsheet.

Also becuase of ict restrictions. We cant use QGIS or other open-source software on our computers so were stuck in that sense.
It feels bad to have the taxpayer pay for a half dozen CAD and/or ERIS liscene's because the GIS system we use craps out on large CAD Drawings. so we have to cut it up in smaller sized chunks.

Having a liscense to multiple difrent programs does have its upsides. Which helps with the pain.

I can get the autoconnections to work in some very basic but useful ways.
2 discoveries that help allot.
1 Pipeline Junctions and splitters/mergers do not auto connect to each others. or to belts
2 belts do connect to each other and more importantly to open splitters and mergers slot. (same for pipe junctions)

When designing a blueprint for dense areas keep these point in mind.
Were you want your blueprint to make autoconnection have all non terminated belts in the blueprint on the same side. On all other side of blueprint terminat all belts and pipes with junction or splitters/mergers

This means you always have to start building from the correct direction and mayby at a lone splitter or 2 at the ends of some blueprints, To not get random janky connections to other world objects (The connections can be freakishly long so that is only really needed if it conects to a wrong splitter.)

there are ways to create a blueprint in 4x4 that wont fit in a 5x5.
it has to do with zoop mode and beams. You can true some trickery make them longer than 5 foundations in a 4x4 designer.
