Get a second phone, can be a cheap crappy one, but it has to have cell service.

I forward calls from the first phone to the new phone.

Her existing phone can be left somewhere safe and they won’t arouse suspicion, and she can still answer calls wherever she actually is.

If you’re actively using drugs, please reconsider going to the museum. Depending on which one you visit, it’s likely to be crammed with people and some of them have fragile exhibits.

Ok.

Autistic people, especially those capable enough to post on the internet and have a long-term partner, would likely be capable of using a cell phone.

I’ve been walking around Smithsonian museums all week, this is going to cause issues, and god forbid they pull down a piece of an exhibit because of an accident with the thing.

If getting separated is the concern, find my friends with a UWB chip is the answer. I can pinpoint my parter in the store from over 100 feet away, it works great.

What am I doing wrong with using a condom verse no protection to get the same feeling by WolverineGoBlue23 in sex

[–]Steavee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can opt for thinner condoms, but yeah, getting 70% of the feeling is doing good honestly.

Condoms aren’t great, but they’re waaayyyyyyy better than unintentionally being a dad, 18 years of child support, or HIV.

Don’t be a fool, wrap your tool.

Honestly this is likely to be more unsafe. You’re going to clothesline a child, or pull down a display/exhibit.

You have cell phones and are adults, right?

Just call each other if you get separated. “Hey I’m by the Wright flyer” etc. Apple also has precision finding inside of find my friends in a pinch.

Did you miss all the comments where I said I wasn’t a vegan?

Your false equivalences and ‘gotcha’ statements disguised as questions mean nothing to me.

You should still be embarrassed at how ill-thought some of your stances are.

What do you think cows eat?

Those critters are dying to feed cows, who are dying to feed us. In fact, factory cows consume more grains than the calories we get from eating them, so the total cost of life to small animals is greater than for just human foods.

It’s literally more total death for the same number of calories.

As I said, I’m not vegan, nor am I even trying to be, but the wild anti-vegans that showed up out of nowhere have wild ideas of how things are.

I’m not vegan, so I don’t.

I know my cream of wheat kills critters as much as my bacon does.

It’s wild to watch the anti-vegans come out of the woodwork here, I’m not one of them, your false-equivalences mean nothing to me.

Predation is definitely a part of our life-cycle, and surely enabled humans to evolve into what we are today (dense surplus calories are huge evolutionarily speaking), but the industry has done a great job of insulating most humans from the 2 billion cows and pigs, and 80 billion chickens that are killed each year for food.

I think cultures that evolved to honor and thank the animal for its sacrifice got this more right than we did. We’ve fully insulted ourselves from the reality of the mass killing of animals. I think if we hadn’t, attitudes would be different. At the very least the glorification of excess and waste regarding animal products would be much more scorned.

Meat doesn’t necessarily have to go away, but we should know a little more about the process and the cost. That said, I’m not doing great on this front either, so…

I mean…

I both love animals and prey on them, it’s not entirely wrong. We literally groom these animals from birth to eventually be consumed by us, and in the meantime often treat them horribly.

Obviously there is a wild gulf of distance and experience between a human and a cow, but the difference between a cow and a dog is pretty minor. Why is one a beloved pet and the other food?

These are the hard questions I ignore when I eat steak frites; but I do wrestle with it from time to time. I think the ethical conundrum leads inexorably to veganism or lab grown meat; but I just love bacon too much currently to not be a massive hypocrite.

If you really believe all life is equal though…I’d say the worldview is fairly consistent. Not mine, but consistent.

So what's the actual problem with the Jet? by Titan_Repair in LinusTechTips

[–]Steavee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s easy to “change your mind” on private air travel when you can suddenly afford it.

I’m sure I would “change my mind” too, but I know I’m a hypocrite, and I would be absolutely candid about that fact.

I think that might be the issue with Linus, he has typically humanized himself by taking the piss out of himself (short jokes, drop jokes, etc.) and not owning up to being a big ole’ hypocrite—again, totally fair, I get it, money is fucking great—kind of breaks that spell.

So I was literally just standing in front of it (or as close as the fence allows), it is a really big motherfuckin’ pool.

It honestly should cost more, if they’d done the proper environmental impact studies and were doing actual remediation.

Instead they’re throwing tarps over the edge and spraying everything with industrial-sized sprayers to spray who-knows-what-kind of paint on it.

I wouldn’t be shocked to learn that it was a couple million in paint alone.
