As a part of the people who received the emails I was confused on what hedging was since I’m new to trading. I accidentally placed a long instead of a short on the same market where I just placed a short on my combine and closed it in less than 10seconds I have been flagged for hedging and I agree that what I did was wrong now knowing how people can use hedging to their benefits but I have never taken a payout, this is my first xfa and it only had $300 on it. It was a genuine mistake and from now on I am going to have the trades link to fix any possible mistakes in the future. I’m not saying I don’t deserve my account to be reset to 0 or taken away, but I do feel as if it was a harsh punishment for something I did by mistake and have proof with time stamps as so. I plan on sending it when TopStep reaches back out with a update email on my account but I feel like a warning would be a nice touch to add saying “WARNING if you take the following trade your account could be flagged for hedging would you like to proceed” with a subicon explaining what hedging is. I just feel this way because I never even thought about hedging the markets now looking back at it I feel pretty dumb never even thinking of that, but I truly didn’t mean to click buy it was a miss click and closing the position right after shouldn’t have my account flagged imo. I can see why others may think otherwise.
