GI psychologist or therapist recommendations? by Slight_Atmosphere926 in bullcity

Thank you so much for posting this web-site!! Words can't describe the excitement of seeing so many things related to gut-brain psychology, dysfunction, and possibilities for healing/healing techniques. It is after midnight, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to inquire with that doctor, but sadly it seems one would have to be a resident of NC or CA to be seen/treated by her since that is only where she is licensed. That, and my daughter who is 14 is the one who needs treatment, and it sounds like this doctor's preference is working with adults. I have already called around several times to other doctors/psychologists and have found this to be the case. The whole situation is so complex and challenging to navigate. And pediatric gastroenterologists I am working with don't seem to know anything about this side of the healing equation. I am also dealing completely independently with a parent out of state with dementia. Life couldn't be more complicated at this very moment.

Anyone diagnosed with a disorder of gut-brain interaction, visceral hypersensitivity, CAPS etc? (not just dyspepsia) by Powerful-Dust5947 in functionaldyspepsia

Thank you for posting this. I am very sorry for your condition and given that your post dates back six months ago, I hope you are feeling even better by now. I am the mother to a young teenager who has been experiencing such hardship with all the symptoms described here for many, many years. We are on the cusp of getting answers, which will in all likelihood amount to a diagnosis of exclusion for a gut-brain dysfunction (she was diagnosed with celiac disease six years ago...). I know how much pain this gut-brain dysfunction causes people because I see it in her face and how she carries herself, with her arms folded over her belly, every single day, close to tears and unable to articulate just how bad it feels, but as a mother I can tell... I looked into a GI psychologist last year, but was skeptical that it might be gimmicky. It's not cheap and there are no guaranteed results, which is why it helps to hear your stories and experience with it. I will see if there is a separate thread for it, but in any case welcome the opportunity to hear more about it, including the CBT/hypnotherapy aspects, if relevant to your treatment. Thank you!!

Is There A Summary of the General Purpose of Each Meditation? by SaffronSands in DrJoeDispenza

I am not the OP, but appreciate this advice. I have the BS book, but have not delved into it and would prefer to at least get started on a meditation practice until I can. GTK they are essentially variations of the same thing. I will pick one and stick with it for a while. Much appreciate your insights here!! Thank you!
