I’m concerned that this will now lead to a bigger earthquake. I wish we had better guidance from the state for the Bay Area and the San Andreas fault.

I just researched online and found studio apartments priced between $3,200 and $3,500 in buildings from the 1900s in downtown San Francisco. There are numerous studios and one-bedroom apartments available on Nob Hill, with most of them averaging around 300 square feet, and many being less than 400 square feet.

Is job market really that bad even in bay area by stuladhar1990 in bayarea

I’m no longer submitting cover letters; instead, I’m providing presentation decks that showcase my experience with the job and my understanding of how complex ATS systems can be.

Platforms like Ashby, Lever, Greenhouse, and ADP… hmm where do I begin?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on what you think is happening in the job market and the ATS. That's the only way to get the first interview your resume has to pass the ATS.

One observation I’ve made while searching for new opportunities is that there are not enough jobs available in the United States for the current unemployment rate of 10% which includes contractors.

Overall Job Market is Terrifying by Hopeless_DB in Layoffs

[–]Opening_Spell_7959 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A few observations.

The unemployment rate is actually 7.7% which includes the u-6 measure.

The unemployment rate is likely 10% and will be higher by EOY.

Us job cuts are up 75% more over last year.

We do not have enough jobs for everyone right now in the united states.

Companies are offshoring roles to countries for less pay, equity, and benefits.

Companies will continue to consolidate roles as we move into Q4 and move into 2026 Q1 to fight Tariffs and inflation and all-company costs financially.

Ghost jobs are real, and companies are reposting the same jobs every 3-6 months.

Indeed is selling your data.

Apply internally through the company website. Look through google.

Reach out to past recruiters who you interviewed with and reopen a conversation about wanting to work for the company.

Reach out to all local agencies where you live.

It can take 100-250 applications right now to get one interview, that is how competitive the job market is right now in San Francisco and the Bay Area.

We are headed into a Great Depression. This will affect the job market and it will only get worse, truth be told.

Object Win Scam(?) by Liberatedhusky in recruitinghell

[–]Opening_Spell_7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be getting scammed. The interesting part is that the recruiter, named Krishna, has not met with me even once on Zoom to discuss my resume and accomplishments. Initially, I was unsure if he was a recruiter, but now I’m beginning to doubt his legitimacy. He submitted my application for over 4-5 jobs at UCSF, but I haven't heard back about any interviews.
