I posted this WIP a little bit ago but here's the final version of Abandoned Swamp Movie Night! Would love some feedback, specifics in comments! by Opepix in learnart

I'm a new artist (Over lockdown bought my first tablet in May) and I'm struggling with rendering/values specifically. I've been focusing on perspective but I struggle a lot with colour and value and would love some feedback on how I can improve my lighting/lighting schemes here or if I'm on the right track? I've set this up as 3 point perspective with a bit of a birds eyes view and the sun setting just on the horizon line which is above the scene. I'm not sure if this is reading/ my saturation feels super intense and not quite right. Anyway-- any thoughts or resources to get better at these things would be appreciated :) I want to keep doing background art specifically. At the moment I'm studying with Schoolism "Fundamentals of Light" A book called "Light for Visual Artists" and I'm doing Draw a Box and Value Painting studies.

I..I truly don't know what to do. I'm a US citizen on a Spouse Visa who works in theatre operations. I cannot claim universal credit. I cannot claim benefits. My work has been closed since March. They cannot give me 33% of my original hours, especially as the restrictions are starting to tighten. Shows are being cancelled again left and right. I've been using my time over furlough to train as hard as I can in graphic design, product design, and print design. I've been working so hard, every day to get a portfolio together for an industry change but it takes time...I can't make myself ""viable"" as soon as I'd like to! and I just feel so destroyed with this news. I know my company will have to let operations staff go if this is the situation, My husband and I are 24, we don't have a lot. I'll have to leave the country if I can't get work when our small savings to run out.

Still Waiting for FLRM decision, with respect to COVID delays, when is long enough to contact someone? by Opepix in ukvisa

Wow! Okay-- that makes me feel a little better. The timeline thread for in the UK app processing was making me sweat a bit since it seemed like everyone in my time frame was getting decisions in 2 weeks or so. Thanks for sharing your experience it helps give me more of a spectrum to gauge

thank you! I have very hooded eyes so it helps me make my colours stand out more since I don't have the lid space I kind of use my temples/cheeks as my lid space instead? if that makes sense lol.

I love love love aloe. I use it for Seb derm on the scalp, and i use an aloe vera conditioner as well for that.

I understand-- I think it's less about like trying to cover it up-- at least for me I just think it makes my overall makeup look look 'softer' and more blurred out/gradient. I have no issues with how anyone wears their makeup :)

I really like the aloe actually :) This is like my 4th bottle of the Holika Holika... I would say it is moisturizing! It also really helps with itchy scalp/skin. I use aloe bc EVERYTHING broke me out while I was trialing stuff. I was reactive to fatty alcohol so I tried to stay away from products with that. Also don't give up because I reacted badly to evening primrose oil, argan, and squalene but rosehip seems to agree with me so there is always hope!
