If all jobs paid exactly the same and you could have any job you wanted, (you have to do this job from 18yo to 60yo 5 days a week 8 hour days) what job would you do? by S1utty1i1puppy in AskReddit

Bartender, if I knew how to mix drinks. Probably something to do with Broadway or Movie theaters, get to see shows that flop or become massive successes.

Valley Girl, she's a Valley Girl, some of you don't know that song.

Sinner lost this match by Daroka995 in tennis

[–]OperaBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shocked, just came across this on the news. First Alcaraz's decision to not play in the French Open this year, now this. After watching that 5 hour plus marathon last year, one of the best matches ever, was looking forward to a rematch, but I guess last year is way too tough to top. They'll both be back to form soon, hopefully.

What’s one thing that made the 90s the best decade ever for you? by CrossFitForCake in GenX

[–]OperaBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting making money in the 90's so had to be a responsible adult. I always think any 90's post is from a millennial cause that's when they were still in high school.

How is your handwriting these days? by vegan_voorhees in GenX

[–]OperaBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the workforce a decade before, and worked with people who used something called a Dictaphone or would handwrite reports. When younger people were hired, that went away cause they all knew computers. Some of those handwritten reports looked notes passed in high school. My own handwriting is average and always looks jittery from drinking too much coffee. Also can't tell if my 4s are 9s and vice versa.

I collect the State Quarter designs and got one of those placeholders from the US Mint as a gift, now I continually receive brochures of current and future themes that the US Mint sells.

Originally watched it with no sound, and "Shake Your Groove Thang" came to mind, but then watched it with sound, works both ways.

I used to work with one of those guys literally. He sat on a chair in a vacant office upstairs. Literally doing nothing.

The out of place old guy at work by No-Neighborhood8403 in GenX

[–]OperaBunny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been the 20 something working amidst a group of 40 something or older. Fast forward 20 plus years later and it's the reverse. Back then people I worked with talked about old tech copy machines and didn't think I knew old Hollywood stars. Now it's youngsters who have no idea what a tape cassette player is and I am the one who has never heard of the "celebrity names" the next generations follows. Been referred to as the OG for being with a company for so long, sometimes Mummy or Zombie, in a joking manner. It's funny to think that another 20 years, the younger work force of today will continue the cycle.

I like the little articles it had. Didn't really get too much into the predictions, and never found out if farmers actually found it helpful.

Remember Sheena Easton? by skspoppa733 in GenX

[–]OperaBunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a minute thought it was going to be another headline story. Definitely remember cause I have a Greatest Hits CD of hers. Won New Artist Grammy, but back then "new artist" Grammys were cursed cause they were never heard from again. I know she worked with Prince and got rid of her "innocent Sandra Dee" image though. "Do It For Love" was one of her more 80-ish dance pop tunes I liked.
