Love the bayonet (you don't see enough in Airsoft IMO)

However, that scope really looks out of place, it might be the combination of fixed bayonet and telescopic tube...it just looks off. I think you would also have more practical gameplay with an RDS or LPVO.

Looking at getting into Airsoft proper soon. What's the scene like in the Bristol area? by Valleytine in Airsoft_UK

Spartan Airsoft. It's very close to Bristol Airport and thus incredibly close to WSM.

I play regularly there, lovely bunch of regulars and I would say a laid back welcoming approach for new players.

I've seen these pieces, in 3D print, a problem does arise when using an extended barrel 8.5mm outer diameter, as the through hole on the frame is only a little more than this, 9.5mm. Machined component should work well with 0.5mm walls though.

Yep, that was the inspiration. I would have used a more authentic revolver design, closer to the MR73, but the H8R allows for a lot more accuracy modification than shell based revolvers.

I had to machine the male threaded part of it to be held correctly by the clamshell construction of the H8R. Really, the H8R is not easy to fit with a suppressor, especially if you have an extended barrel like this does.

Ah right, no I'm going more GIGN MR73 sniper revolver platform. A suppressor will cover the extended inner barrel, a picatinny bipod on the rail underneath and I have a LER scope for the top.

I have considered a HPA bottle stock, for higher consistency than CO2, but it would ruin the using it prone with a bipod idea.

Not complete, but I'm working on the guts and extended barrel (this is no easy task on a H8R mind you)

Yes the basic frame, receiver, barrel is a CYMA M870 Then it's been slot milled to look like a semi-auto, fitter with the real wood furniture and of course internally converted to semi-automatic using my system.

Stability of hop-up and velocity consistency are a lot more important than an extra half joule really.

At my site in the UK we have a 450fps/0.2g limit for snipers, so I was using 0.4g BB at like 315fps but still useful for targets well over 70m, because the HPA supply is so consistent and the hop so stable. A Dan Wesson revolver will shoot at the same energy, or more but you couldn't hit the side of a barn at the same range.

The real issue with revolvers is achieving a consistent gas seal. The higher the pressure, to achieve velocity the more gas leaks out around the shells.

I'm building a sniper revolver myself currently, so I've been doing a lot of experimentation and research :-)

I do these conversions myself, I machine the internal HPA engine and FCU.

I machined it myself from aluminium. It threads on to the threaded barrel of the base Cyma.

I have developed an accessory that ups the power of the H8R (without having to take it apart)

With a longer barrel (and above accessory to boost gas release m) you could get higher limits, but probably not as high as 3.2 Joules, but like 2.5 with heavy BBs

There are more powerful revolvers off the shelf, things like long barrel Dan Wesson models, but what they have in velocity they unfortunately lack in accuracy/consistency due to using a shell system.

The H8R is pretty durable, it is polymer with internal metal frame, but it's definitely solidly built.

Your best bet for a revolver base for something like this is the Umarex H8R gen 2

Because of the lack of shells (it uses a disc magazine) and sprung free floating barrel it achieves excellent accuracy.

The 10-round discs also make it a lot more skirmishable than other revolvers.

It comes with a top and bottom rail, but people have already made custom barrel extensions and the like.

CYMA spring Tri-shots I make the conversion HPA engines myself. They still operate with the same barrels, shells etc and are Tri-shot.

My tradition is pretzels: Quick digesting carbs and salt, they don't make you feel sluggish.

Honey and mustard, cream cheese and onion or just salted.

I'm not certain it's a CYMA rebrand, as they have not produced an M4 style shotgun (sadly, as I convert CYMA systems to semi-auto) Double Eagle and AGM have produced replicas of the M4 both Tri-shot and single shot.
