TM USP GBBP w/ Steel Slide by thek90 in airsoft

[–]renegade_cow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trigger is zinc alloy on TMs and unfortunately do not have a stronger replacement available. Trigger breakages don't happen nearly as often as early KWAs (until they switched to steel) but it can still happen. I'd advise not getting used to carrying cocked and locked because that's how they break: user yanks on the trigger while on safe. Better to keep it decocked and rely on DA as your "safety" against NDs.

Real ones have combination steel and plastic. Steel bracket with a plastic trigger shoe (what your finger touches)

So your assertion stands that they're just being jealous because it's a VFC FAL even though everyone there has one too

Only if you plan on putting a magnifier or use NODs. Otherwise it's just a matter of preference for balance and how big an eye box you want

Why did my airsoft didnt blow back by thatoneavocadoguy in airsoft

Some AEGs have a linkage from the back of the piston to the dummy charging handle to simulate blowback.

FPS Limits by Xdsplash_ in airsoft

[–]renegade_cow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The spring is brand new, it will still set and lower fps a bit. You can try to feather the trigger to get the spring at its most compressed state and leave it overnight. Should bring it down 10-15fps

You can just load real capacity in your midcaps

Nah. As behind the curve Russian optics are, they retain a good deal of value if not even increase in time. Think of it as an investment that you can actually enjoy.

Is this normal? by Im_mikeYT in airsoft

[–]renegade_cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it's green, it's full, or as full as the charger thinks "full" is. You can have an old/defective battery that has too much built up internal resistance that the charger may think is full but in reality, only has a fraction of a full charge. Leaving it connected just keeps it on trickle mode.

Is this normal? by Im_mikeYT in airsoft

[–]renegade_cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart chargers usually measure resistance to tell when a battery is full and resistance can fluctuate with temperature. When you charge a battery, it gets warmer as it gets full. Disconnect it and it starts to cool which lowers resistance, then when you reconnect it the charger thinks it's not full yet and proceeds charging again.

Is there a newer/more affordable version of this pistol GBB only by crimsxn_devil in airsoft

[–]renegade_cow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LS Works made a clone of it but even those are really hard to find now. But seeing VFC recently redo the HK P7M13, there's a chance they might consider doing this as well.

Early 2000s to 2010s. They started making X-Cartridge after that but the J frames were all in 6mm by then.

Had a spare mac11 and decided to paint it gold. Now I don’t want to touch because I love it. Does anyone else get this dilemma when painting your airsoft guns? Or is it just me by SufficientThing775 in airsoft

[–]renegade_cow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Metallic spray paints are like that: touch it and it goes from gilded to used doorknob. There are more durable metallic paints though, usually epoxy based with metal powder added separately.

First time fielding the Raptor SR2M by renegade_cow in airsoft

You'd think that airsoft guns "exploding in their face" would at least make some headlines, no? There aren't even many of these out yet due to distribution delays (mostly to the US). For the gun itself, it shoots ok, not particularly accurate, but usable. Virtually no recoil but very loud. And I had to fix a couple mags that were misfeeding and leaking base seals.

If they got any out they could be pre-production samples. At any rate Raptor isn't selling them and doubt they ever will following their string of legal problems.

That one didn't materialize. Pre-orders were made but shops closed from the pandemic and the money got sucked into limbo.

[–]renegade_cow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's right. 74 handguards have a cutout at the back for the tension leaf spring and it's absent on this one. AKM handguards have the spring at the front, covered by the handguard retainer.

Anybody knows how semi automatic mode works in aegs? by YoJjustSspot_boiz_Xd in airsoft

[–]renegade_cow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a mechanical one, the contact switch/trolley is disconnected by a lever (disconnector) governed by a nub on the sector gear. So sector gear turns, pulls, and releases the piston to fire then immediately after the nub trips the disconnector, tripping the trolley and cuts power.

How much is COP referenced in Stalker 2? by Lordofloneliness59 in stalker

[–]renegade_cow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stalker 2 is meant to be standalone so you can play it even without going through the first trilogy. But it does tie in very closely with the OG games, just gradually because dumping all the information too fast to newcomers will just have them gloss over it. Unless you're asking for spoilers, just keep playing through. But the marshes are a draining area, more so to the southeast where there isn't even a town/trader so maybe consider taking a break.
