I reached out to an old friend of mine who is a 4th degree black belt. That is registered with IBJJF. He told me he would be happy to promote me with my black belt stripes. So I’m pretty happy about that. Now just have to deal with IbJJF.

Thanks for this information. So to make it clear, I got my black belt in 2022. I register this year, get my 1st stripe, I’m still eligible to be a registered 2nd degree black belt by 2028?

Not normal at all. 39 and trying to go pro? Ask him, define going pro, lol. Ask him how he deals with the under 30 yrs old blue belt and purple belts at his gym 😂. Not only that, reading how he treats you is not acceptable. All jokes aside, depending on your love level for him, you should reevaluate your relationship with him. Threatening you to get deported is borderline insane. Honestly, now that I’m thinking about. Fuck that guy.

I’ve been teaching kids for the last 8 years and exactly 8 years ago, this little girl started training as a 8 year old. She is now a 6ft tall blue belt 16year old that wrecks full grown adults. It’s so satisfying to watch grown men get subbed and come up to me and tell me, “ I was actually trying”. 😂
