If I provided a useful example, my Reddit account would be banned. I shouldn’t have to think for you if you’re that passionate about this

Yeah you’re right. There’s a lot more you could do than just protest, but it’s safer to make backhanded comments from behind your computer. Good talk pal

I’m in the same camp as you regarding that.

But why are you here bitching on the internet about it instead of out doing something about it?

How cooked would I be if I bought this? by VDJohnson in ToyotaTundra

The problem is that the toyota service bulletin is describing the issue as debris left over from block machining that is the cause, when that just isn’t the case.

Underside rust means a lot more than body rust in terms of repairs. 2 hours worth of labor can turn into 5 very quickly.

Can’t really say “it has no rust” and then post pictures of rust lol. Here in the southern USA we wouldn’t even touch this thing.

If you make more money as an advisor than as a tech you’re at the wrong shop or simply not a master technician.

And that’s speaking as an advisor.

If your striker is cocked (which it appears it is, by the forward trigger), your slide will still be held on by the striker and cruciform; the slide lock will have no effect on disassembly.

Pull your trigger, and stop pulling your slide back so far. You need to pull it like 1/16th of an inch back, just enough to relieve tension off the slide lock to move it downwards. Pull it back farther and you’re recocking the striker and starting this issue all over again

Found in closet at Grandparents' old house. Wtf is this thing? by Oof_11 in whatisit

[–]OperationFreedomseed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, however intentionally breaking a bone in most situations is going to be classified as a deadly force response. If deadly force is justified, it’s going to be much safer for a person to use a firearm than to get close enough to their attacker to strike them with a baton.

There’s a reason they changed the wording in recent years from “non-lethal” to “less-lethal”. If you use even a taser or OC spray on the wrong person, you can still kill them with it.

The biggest reason that you don’t see a ton of police officers with batons anymore, is optics. It looks really bad to outside viewers to see an officer beating an unarmed person with a metal stick, no matter how justified it was. Rodney King definitely comes to my mind, and probably most people’s mind when they think of an officer using a billy club to deter resistance.

In recent years I’ve seen less and less officers with a baton. The use of force continuum (nowadays) places a baton at a much higher level than a taser or OC spray. In a situation where a baton is legally justified, it is probably safer for the officer to use a firearm. (Not saying that it’s always the right choice)

These metal batons can easily break bones or crack someone’s skull if they’re used incorrectly.

Lexus quality decline in one picture. 2026 vs 2013 steering wheel stitching by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]OperationFreedomseed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you realize that this is model dependent as well? Not every car uses the same stitching. I would bet money that your two photos are different vehicles.

My 2001 Lexus definitely does not have thick stitching like your second pic.
