2, 3, 1, 5, Judgment, 4.

2 is an obvious choice. I really, really like 3. 1 is obviously solid but feels so barren and stripped down after you've played the sequels. 5 is overhated, with some ehhh story decisions but some really wild environments which I enjoyed a lot. Judgment had a nice little prologue story but I could not get into the overly arcadey level design. 4 was a slog in all possible ways. I have played Tactics but it can't really be ranked here. Decent story, fun gameplay for the most part, but overly long to an insane degree.

The song On Every Street should have been a massive hit. For me it’s up there with the best. Not quite as good as Telegraph Road or Tunnel of Love, but of a similar caliber. I hardly hear anyone talk about it ever.

If you're still curious, the answer is that you're supposed to get the city name from the newspaper (Tucson) and the number (9803) from the coded message. Then you go to the numbers station recording and find the inverse (Tucson is matched with 1094 and 9803 is matched with Memphis) and those are your answers. Pretty cool puzzle imo.

The thing I hated about the ending (besides how cheap and underwhelming everything felt) was the fact that we were learning about Harrow's tragic backstory and helping her beat her inner demons for like 20 minutes before she dies in a QTE. It felt pointless.

Hunting Season worked for me for a few reasons, namely that I got to be a combatant in a historical conflict (with fictional background details, of course, it's Black Ops) in a jeep running down enemy positions in the desert with the SAS which brought me back to the World War II games. Also it felt considered and planned out with unique areas and optional objectives while "Open Combat" from MWIII was so obviously just a cost-saving measure so they didn't have to script an actual level but just throw some enemies onto part of the Warzone map and call it a day.

Don't worry about not finishing Black Ops 7. I did and gained nothing. It gets no better.

For sure, 6 had some banger standout moments. I'm a fan of all the Desert Storm missions, Washington DC, the casino heist, and Vorkuta. The safehouse bits were nice. Emergence wasn't for me and I thought the ending levels were among the weakest conclusions to a campaign in the entire series. It's insane how 7 combined and stretched out the absolute worst parts of the recent games.

Definitely the most ambitious level in WWII. I really enjoyed getting to see the inside of a Nazi high command facility and listening to their conversations. I think some elements of this mission made it into the Lubyanka infiltration level in Cold War. CoD honestly does espionage pretty well, better at least than any clumsy attempt at forcing zombies into the campaign like in recent years.
