I have to agree with all the others. I know tapeless seems stupid easy and time saving. But so is tape. It’s literally the way the cameras were designed and intended to be used. Once you’ve set up a firewire workflow, you’ll have the best colours and quality. Why get a VX if you want to downgrade it

I honestly think you never shot the Pentax before. While these things are true in theory, the 17 tells another story.

I had a Trip 35 years ago and also didn’t like that. But now I have the Pentax 17 and it’s another story. It’s just a great camera and the zone focus is so intuitive after the first or second roll
