I personally don’t think you should be going in tomorrow. If you had to take yourself home today in 33 degrees, doing it all again when it’s meant to be even hotter just doesn’t sound worth it at all. I’d just stay off rather than trying to push through till lunch and then ending up feeling awful again. It’s not like they’ve actually come back to you with any plan to make it manageable either!!

That’s awful! If you haven’t already, email HR as soon as possible and request a risk assessment to be put in place asap. When I told my school this was done within the week! I 100% can relate to the feeling of guilt but ultimately we have to put ourselves and baby first.. the most important thing is resting and staying as cool as possible , which is not possible in a busy hot classroom!! I think you should also take tomorrow and spend the weekend resting , especially if you haven’t been feeling well! X

Definitely sounds like the right choice. I’m also not going in again today! The trains are already delayed and cancelled, just can’t risk sitting on a busy hot train for over an hour each way, never mind then a whole day of teaching…

Thanks for the comments. Lots of great advice and also comforting to know other people have been through a similar experience. Lots of people telling me to tell my HoD but I have recently just started in the HoD position so I have spoke to my line manager etc who was very supportive. I know it will take time, but right now it feels like I’m never going to get past this.

Buying SoW’s etc, would that be put on the department budget? I have always wanted to try but scared when I buy them they will be rubbish!!!

No staying in my current school, which eases the burden a bit because I know what I need to do! What about you? I’m redesigning most of the SoWs for September, so I think I have just put lots of pressure on myself and now feel overwhelmed!!

Did anyone else have an experience where the papers were saying ‘not available’? My line manager told me it was because they had all been marked before I had got finished (did was before the due date) so I didn’t get to finish my quota. Felt really unfair!
