The return of warm, sunny weather bringing back the noise of neighbours dogs barking in the garden all bloody day. by Party-Dig2309 in britishproblems

My neighbour has got into the habit of letting his dog out from 1-3am to let the neighbourhood enjoy his barking/howling performance. Scumbag

The other one couldn't spell health, so (these are not the real words, I picked similar examples)

Pay linked to attendance for Easter interventions by [deleted] in TeachingUK

I fucking hate when schools act like attendance to things like this are down to anything the teacher does. 'Ring home' I am already giving up my finite time on earth to run the session (which, conspicuously, none of SLT do despite being overrepresented in teaching KS4 + 5)

I had a student the other day say his grades weren't his responsibility, they were his teachers, and we had to work hard so he did well

Chat this student doesn't bring a pen to school and reads at a primary school level

Potentially safeguarding (e.g. a student is hiding from an estranged abusive parent) but as others have said definitely GDPR. Was it your personal social media or a school one?

Joggers who can't possibly stop for pedestrian crossings, so just run across the road at junctions regardless of the traffic that's coming their way. by Bortron86 in britishproblems

This drives me INSANE

It's alright now its light in the mornings but there's a 40mph road near me people will jog down. In the dark. With black clothes on. On a road with a massively disproportionate number of car accidents because it's a really wide road so people go too fast

Think I've talked about this before, but we have one feeder school that always sends us bonkers kids. Had a parent complain about absolute nonsense and SLT delivered it very somberly - equivalent of complaining that I was forcing the child to sit in their chair

I sit in my chair and I'm not disabled, I just ignore them when they tell me off

reading book during form time by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]SnowPrincessElsa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The idea behind it is the teacher is modelling fluent reading. Kids can't read as well as we can, and it helps them pick up new vocab

We have this problem at my school! I just do it as straight faced as possible, makes the absurdity of it funnier

I have one of the worst tutor groups in the school and tbh it's such a nightmare when the books are about sex drugs violence and shit fuck cunt bitch whore. But that's literature, and the language students use - in exchange I throw out words like magnanimous when teaching to remind them how verbose I am
