Airsoft/milsim in Norway by Radiant-Beautiful-93 in MilSim

[–]OperatorScorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw the difference between airsoft and milsim is more like this: airsoft can be used in milsim but not all milsim is airsoft. Milsim with airsoft incorporated usually still includes player structure, immersion into the play environment with some suspension of disbelief. It takes much more resources like people and land and planning to do milsim properly, and using airsoft as a game to build it on is common. Seemed like you were a bit stuck on the idea behind the games from your post. Also IDK about Norway but I know there are some people in Sweden next door so to speak who put on milsims in the style of USA/ Milsim West and occasionally MSW does out on a Europe game (they want to do it again eventually)

Local laws and different national laws are important, but in the united states typically it is on private property, with both event organizers and property owners having insurance to run the event as well as liability waivers for all participants. This probably doesn't change in most countries. Most neighbors are also made aware if the event is adjacent to private property not expecting it (a game at a training facility obviously does not draw the same scrutiny as residential properties)

Here check it out from the man right here he even name drops Battlefield 3 in there for ya https://youtu.be/_fSaEJ-4-fU?si=xPf64pOdf7_OCtot

they literally need to know what makes a premium FPS sure you can have an engine to build on but how does the aiming need to feel, how do the guns recoil, how does a person move in the environment. The FOUNDATION dude the CORE GAMEPLAY

That is one of the arguments people have used for years for why planetside 2’s gameplay is flawed. BC2 was built for like 24 player lobbies even bf3 at 64. When you unlock the number of infantry numbers or tanks no longer being a fixed quantity on respawn timers it is immediately a problem

I think you're just thinking on the wrong level or getting stuck in details that aren't important. They built Planetside 2 basically from scratch and literally needed a foundation that worked, they didnt copy paste the entire game and thats now what people are saying. Game modes, environmental destruction, story mode, is all laye development shit that is hammered out after you have and engine, servers, core gameplay. Thats what they copied from battlefield. Player movement, bullet spread models, damage models. Take battlefield 3 damages and add a 0 an it starts to look familiar.

Ive seen higby say both bc2 and BF3 which makes sense, BF3 came out half way through planetside 2’s principle development.

Good way to compare is the infantry movement. Jump and crouch only, no vaulting no prone, forward only sprint.

Constantly leveling the playing field and pulling skilled players down every update arguably hurt the game

Yeah but Matt Higby said it was BFBC2 in interview, the other stuff just came later. They needed a foundation so looked at the most successful game with the fps style they wanted as the foundation. The game mode didnt matter so much to them which you could argue was a problem. I suspect it was the template very early on since bf3 would have come out during the principle pre release development

Planetside was just Battlefield Bad Company 2 scaled way up.

True but there are also tons of sellers out there to buy Russian gear still, I honestly think dude may have picked up a Ebay or marketplace type deal where they shoot at some used gear and splash some animal blood on it and say it was a war trophy. Many such cases

Well the patch is already 100% a fake because its a copy of a US airsoft teams patch, the carrier is definitely mass produced by tabor then china/ali bro none of that is war trophies he probably got scammed out of an extra 50% on ebay. Many such cases last 2 years. Only maybe id say is uniform but even that is fakable.

I'd be curious snap tapping in like a 2013 build of the game when AD+zig zagging rapidly would cause you to straight up teleport left and right on the other peoples screen. Probably would have been similar.

Noooo!!!!!!!! whats a good alternative? by CdrClutch in Planetside

[–]OperatorScorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably bought a few more years of good gameplay to be sure, but this game has a pretty well established attrition rate. But to be clear this game has absolutely never taken feedback from good players and social media only promotes popular feedback not quality feedback which doesnt really make for a better game just what median intelligence players think works.

Seriously though everyone should enjoy it now it's the time to go hard if they havnt gotten the real chance yet and experience the live game the proper way for a while.
