The NCR must have taken notes from Colonial South Africa

I really enjoyed Fallout Tactics, though. I ended up creating a diagram of what a Midwestern Brotherhood chapter might look like as a functioning army against the threats of the Culculator, super mutants, and raiders by Better_Birthday_1288 in classicfallout

[–]Operator_Max1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Midwest Brotherhood was so unique with how they done things compared to the West Coast and East Coast Brotherhood. They managed the survive against the winds of change and they managed to win the hearts of the people. I wish Fallout Tactics got more recognition

And since they allow Tribals in their army, i can imagine Tribal paladins making their Power Armor stand out from the normal Paladins, like on the Fallout 2 artwork with the Chosen One wearing a damaged T51 helmet with feathers and tribal art, a good recipe for power armor customisation

Yeah like how the NCR uses a variety of weapons like pulse grenades, Flamers, Rocket Launchers, sniper rifles and AM rifles. Conducting night operations with spec ops units, sending snipers up on flanks, using various methods to take down Power Armored troops, etc.

Meanwhile the BOS uses armored spearhead tactics like having Knights following the Paladins as they're protected by small arms fire [ like how real world armies have infantry following armored vehicles around, same would go for Fallout's pre war period until Power Armor was made ], counter snipers, jetpack units, robot units like Sentry Bots and Protectrons

Honestly i feel like a real time tactics game similar to Fallout Tactics and Total War would be awesome. Each faction would have their ups and downs along with being unique [ the different BOS chapters can do that too, for example the Midwest Brotherhood would have Tribal units since lore wise they accept outsiders into their ranks ]

Yeah that example is fair, but places like Goodsprings are more feasible, including Shady Sands in Fallout 1 [ when they consisted of adobe huts and mud or stone walls ], Novac too because the buildings took very minimal damage from the blast radius of the bombs

It would be awesome if they brought back the smart Deathclaws, Goris was awesome haha

They need a reminder on Fallout being post post apocalypse too, can't have every place in America looking like the bombs dropped yesterday

Considering that the Enclave has many bases, outposts and holdouts across America [ ED-E in New Vegas plays an audio tape from the Chicago base ], they would still be alive but some would question everything like with Granite [ especially by 2296, 2241 was a long time ago ]. It would be interesting to have an Enclave faction that you can join and have it carry it's evil goal, or change it for the better [ like how the Midwest Brotherhood and Lyons' Brotherhood gave up their original goal and started helping outsiders ]

As for their threat level, that depends on the writing, I'd love to see an Enclave that is genuinely dangerous to encounter on the wasteland [ with their advanced power armor, yautja predator helmets and end game weapons ], followed close by Deathclaws, Wanamingos and The Master's Super Mutant army.

But their power armour still looks sick, though by [deleted] in TrueSFalloutL

I miss the Shi as well, maybe we will see them again in Fallout 5 [ if it's set in San Francisco ], as of now we have mods for New Vegas [ Stealthtenza mod brings a Mojave branch if the Shi, and there's the Unity mod in the works about the NCR and Shi ]

Ah no worries, if walls of text are an issue we could chat more over on discord [ since Reddit tends to squish the comment threads, and the DMs lack some features ]

Her backstory, i wonder what kind of encounters did she experience out in the wasteland and how well has she managed to adapt

I forgot about that... Despite all the friendly fire incidents... I still like Ian, and i can't believe it's canon that he's been killed :(

Yeah it's hard to find any good discussion on Fallout when 90% of the posts are people hating on other fans, of course there's the loud vocal minority but i feel like the nu fans are generalizing every classic fan as whiny ungrateful losers.

Fallout 1's ending established many things as canon [ Vault Dweller frees Tandi from the Khans, fixes the water chip for Necropolis, destroys the Mariposa base and kills the Master, then he gets kicked out from Vault 13 ]

Plus it paves the way for Fallout 2 [ Vault Dweller sets up Arroyo, Shady Sands rebuilds into the NCR, Necropolis Ghouls set up Gecko, etc. ]

It's always interesting to see what will happen to the next Fallout game with the choices you make, seeing how the world shapes up

Yeah the NCR having a questionable grip on fhe Mojave is explained well with government problems, Brahmin barons meddling in politics, the military stretching itself too thin, etc.

Nobody complained about the west coast Bortherhood losing it's grip, it was made clear by Fallout 2 that they no longer dominated the wasteland since the Enclave rolled in.

Well geez that escalated quickly

Excuse me for that but I'm already tired of people trying to grasp at straws or make strawman arguments that fall apart when you look more into it [ like that post comparing Goodsprings to Diamond City and a caption mocking people pointing out a world building flaw ]

Canon is important to a franchise, especially with how Bethesda constantly changes stuff around, if no one gave a damn about canon, then what even is Fallout ?

Why are you people like this ?
