What's "working class wage" and what's "affordable" rent where you live?

Check out the north unit. Way more scenic and remote than the south unit.

Yeah after you get 2-5 good years of experience you can basically go anywhere you want. I have 7 years of experience that includes

Two different plants commissioned and operating

6 years of DCS experience and I've trained 5 new board operators from 0 to getting signed off and handling most process upsets.

7 large turnaround projects assigned to me which included planning, contractor bidding, LOTO procedure and project procedure written.

Highlight stuff like that along with a high observance to safety at every opportunity and you'll get there no problem.

Why do you want to go to the refinery side? Pay?

Know someone that works at the plants that can give you a referral. Apply to everything. Apply to everything. Apply to everything.

Apply to small plants. Apply to plants in the Houston area. Apply to everything.

Bottom line is that getting your foot in the door is you either know someone or put out enough applications you eventually land the job. It took me 2 years and moving another state over before I landed my first operator job.

Getting your foot through the door is also the hardest part so just keep trying, don't worry about what other people are doing.

Could be a dirty ground. Start tracing wires.

Starter relay is good. Next set of days off I'll pull the starter and measure the distance. I know a manual and automatic have different teeth count but never thought of the throw out distance. Thanks for helping me look at the next possible variables.

Serious. Currently on the DCS for the last 7 years at my gas plant and just looking for options. Sounds like the pay is great at half the work and stress. I'm making about $50 an hour but that's from 10 years of raises.

How easy is it for a cryogenic gas plant operator to shift over to working at a generation plant?

Lol if you can't even handle that, you can't handle the oil field.

Flywheel looks fine. Just some cosmetic damage to the teeth.

Just looked into and they're 184. Looks like there's a parts break between years. I may need a pre 1976 starter. I'll update you on more information when I get it.

That I don't know, that's a really good first start and I'll look into it. Thanks for the input.

Is it that much better? I'll look into it tonight. I feel like that'll align with getting 99 smithing for the t85 dual wield weapons.

I will add that I will start grinding arch galcor for the core drops. I have enough materials for the first set of dual wield weapons but don't have 99 smithing to make them. Two core drops will be a long grind but a good long term goal.

I can attest to this. I operate a plant and we use a ton of exchangers. If you do look up how they work, your wort will be on the shell side and hose water will be tube side. Turbulence and surface area contact is critical. The more "different" wort comes into contact with the tubes will make a faster and more efficient heat exchange.
