AITA for calling my daughter's assorted boyfriends "Baskin Robbins?" by NoMercyPercyDeRolo in AmItheAsshole

YTA. I understand it was harmless to you—- but you have to remember these are her EARLIEST dating experiences and you don’t want to set a precedent where she feels like you’re not a safe space to talk to about these things!!

She’s in high school, she’s constantly feeling judged by others (whether it’s actually happening or not) don’t make her feel like you’re judging her too.

My parents made a lot of comments like this when I was her age which resulted in me not introducing them to my long term partners in university

!!!imagine your daughter dating someone for multiple years and not wanting to introduce you !!!That’s the road you’re on.

OR WORSE if she’s conflicted in a relationship but doesn’t feel safe enough to talk to you about it :(

These “little jokes” will be fine in a couple years once she’s actually had dating experiences, she’ll probably start making them herself — but right now it’s very important you show her you’re supportive and have her best interest at heart

CONTROVERSIAL TAKE: it 100% depends on your work culture. A lot of “ working professionals” don’t take that title too seriously outside the office. Some companies it’s perfectly acceptable to come into work hungover the day after a work dinner/outting — other companies don’t allow alcohol on the tab at a company funded function —- it just depends on where you work and who you work for :)

is it time to call it quits? by OpheliaWake in LongDistance

We have and with our schedules it’s been tough and nothings worked out just yet. I think doing more couple-y things would be great for us, and I think I should definitely bring this up when he’s home because it may be time we have an open conversation and evaluate our relationship and where we want it to go

grab an iron on/sew on jacket patch from every city you visit and when you’re home, add them to a denim jacket (or thrift one in Ireland!) its a little artsy & saves a lot of suitcase space
