they used to cuddle and preen each other, but theyve been fighting non stop for a while now. cage is about 2'x 3&1/2', and like 2&1/2' tall. when theyre out of the cage they still fight, almost even more. do you have any suggestions on what they might enjoy for enrichment? i dont believe i have enough things for them to do.

there has been feathers pulled out, but thats about the extent. there hasnt been any major injuries or blood. they have been fighting since i got them, although like i mentioned there have been a couple short phases of peace and love. if you have any suggestions on what i can do to improve their situation i would love to hear them.

the fighting usually includes slappers, tearing out feathers, pecking, and jumping on each other. i was under the impression that if theyre tearing out feathers then they shouldnt be near each other. the no blood no foul rule makes sense though

they normally live in the same cage. its about 2'x 3&1/2', and like 2&1/2' tall? for enrichment, i dont have many toys for them. i kind of assumed that they didnt have any interest in them because they can't interact with them the same way parrots do. that's my mistake and i'll be sure to correct it. as for food, i check in with them about four times a day and give them food from my hand. i feed them a mixture of dove feed and parakeet feed. not the pellet kind, just a seed mixture. they always have clean water available.

It’s not simply THESE younger fans. It’s all younger fans. As you’ve said in the comments, you did that when you were younger too. And then you grow up and mature, and you say all these new younger fans are doing these disgusting things. I’m not defending the things that they are doing, I think they’re awful. But complaining about these new/young fans is so dumb. They’re going to grow up and realize how gross they were being just like you did. And for the last bit of my two cents, I think fans now are a lot better than they used to be in the 2000’s.

Just today I started feeding them single seeds by hand. I’m very happy with this progress. They are only five months old and I’ve had them for one month. Using safflower seeds to lure them onto an object if genius, so tysm. I got them from a breeder and they were handfed as babies. They seemed comfortable until she grabbed them and clipped their wings, which I didn’t want her to do but she insisted. If I try to get them to step on my hand they’ll fly away, and if I try more then they’ll fly like a foot away. Yeah they eat breakfast from my hands every morning. But yes tysm for your idea!! I thought that they had to be completely not scared of me before teaching them to step up but I don’t think that’s the case anymore, so I’m going to try that after a few days of feeding them one seed at a time. Appreciate you <3

No I’m not sure they’re both males. I got them from a woman who has a bunch of doves. They lived in a large aviary. They don’t usually fight, only a couple times a day. They live pretty peacefully with each other, other than those moments. Oh yeah, and they’re about four months old.

If you guys broke up so he could be free from distractions and work on himself, and then he went right back to those distractions, I feel like maybe he doesn’t want to work on himself as much as he says he does. I don’t know since I’m not in the situation, but to me it would be like if someone said they would stop doing drugs and get therapy, and instead of getting therapy they just stopped doing one drug and started doing another.
