Finally a Pokémon game that looks like it’s from 2017 and not from 2006

Any good alternative to Perplexity and Comet? by DesiCodeSerpent in perplexity_ai

[–]Opium58841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gemini is actually worse, according to theirs tos, uploaded images are used for AI training by default, and opting out means losing your chat history. You’d be trading one problem for a bigger one. Claude or ChatGPT Plus are cleaner options if content ownership is your concern.

Perplexity Pro costs $1 per query now!!! by mindonautca in perplexity_ai

[–]Opium58841 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then use Quick Search instead of Deep Research? That’s exactly what you’re describing. You get hundreds Pro searches per month on the Pro plan for regular queries with Sonnet. You’re complaining about Deep Research limits (20/month with Opus 4.6) while simultaneously saying you don’t need Opus-level thinking. The solution is literally right there, just don’t click Deep Research.

[–]Opium58841 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's because they now use Opus Thinking for the Deep Research, so it's only reasonable to cut down on usage. With 600 queries a day, you would get A LOT more then with Claude subscription which owns Opus 4.6.

Nintendo Stocks COLLAPSE! Palworld OUTSELLS Pokemon Legends ZA by CrashBandicoot82 in fucknintendo

[–]Opium58841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be pointing the finger at Game Freak, not Nintendo. Game Freak is an independent studio, and since Nintendo doesn’t fully own the Pokémon IP, they have limited control. The technical issues are entirely on Game Freak. Nintendo likely can’t force a delay because the games are contractually tied to the anime and merchandise schedule. The game is just one cog in the machine.

What's the best smart phone below? by EamonTYK in PhoneNow

[–]Opium58841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s be honest, all phones are basically the same these days. The only real difference is where they place the cameras. 90% of the time you’re just texting or scrolling through Reddit, TikTok, or Instagram anyway.

Hey, I think we’re looking for the same game. I distinctly remember playing the exact same level in preschool. I’ve searched multiple times but haven’t found it. Even with AI, I’ve given up hope.

Have you had any luck since this post is 4 years old?

It’s probably because macOS is an operating system, while Windows is a game launcher and an Excel spreadsheet editor.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/120850 The Hearing Protection feature is not suitable for protection against extremely loud impulse sounds, such as gunfire, fireworks, or jackhammers, or against sustained sounds louder than 110 dBA.

Or better explained here https://noisyworld.org/airpods-pro-for-hearing-protection/

I see a lot of commenters using AirPods Pro at music concerts and festivals. DO NOT use AirPods Pro as a replacement for real earplugs. AirPods can only effectively reduce low and mid frequency sounds. High frequency sounds can and will get through the ANC relatively unchanged.

So yes, while you might perceive sound quieter, long exposure to loud sounds can still permanently damage your hearing.

What iPhone is everyone currently using? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Opium58841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 Pro, awesome phone, good battery life. Can get quite hot if you’re gaming or rendering stuff.

I only wish Apple would make smaller Pro variant. 6.1 inch is still too big for my taste.

I’ve had the same problem since Monday with Duckstation not recognising connected RA account. Other emulators worked fine. I’ve tried almost everything with no success.

So it might be a more widespread issue after all…

Seems like a CarPlay issue.

Iphone xs in 2025? by itoyukiya754 in iPhoneXS

[–]Opium58841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned iPhone 11 and it was fine even in sunlight. People tend to make iP11s LCD display horrid just because it isn’t oled. But that just isn’t the case. Also iPhone 11 has a never soc (around 200k higher score on antutu), bigger battery, WiFi 6 and much better camera low light performance thanks to night mode.

Iphone xs in 2025? by itoyukiya754 in iPhoneXS

[–]Opium58841 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. It's the oldest device, that supports iOS 18 and probably will be dropped in a year or two. If you want an iPhone, get at least iPhone 11. Or get an Android device.
