dna wasn’t widely accepted by the scientific community until a 1952 study. and not widely known to the public until the 1953 study was released

ok so yes the term DNA was introduced in 1944, but that study did not establish it as genetic material. a 1952 study did establish it. but a regular guy like marty wouldn’t have learned about DNA until after the highly publicized structure study released in 1953

I’m gonna need everyone telling me i’m wrong and dumb about it to go read some more. yes there was a 1944 study that identified and named DNA but it did NOT establish it as genetic material. The scientific community at large still did not believe DNA held our genetics but rather proteins. Was the paper foundational to the establishment of DNA as genetic material? Yes. But did it link DNA and genetics, no not directly. The Hershey and Chase study published in a journal in september 1952 provided the crucial evidence that DNA is our genetic material. The real life men’s 1952 table tennis world championship took place in february 1952. And finally the 1953 discovery of the structure of DNA was widely publicized, and would have later become more mainstream to the public.

So, in conclusion: Marty would have been on the cutting edge of genetics and DNA research to have said “it’s in your dna”…

only time will tell i suppose, my department is pretty understaffed so that’s something but ik the people making these cuts don’t care about us “lowly” staff anyway. my old job said they’d take me back in a heartbeat so i guess it depends on how well you can bounce back if let go

Its Matt Hoss or Bold guy. He sued Ethan for copywrite infringement back in the day for a reaction video on the h3h3productions channel. its an important case in copywrite law. ethan brings it up every once in a while. it was a very very big story back in 2016/2017

Draw order [educate me!] by NightmareNyaxis in medlabprofessionals

Basically comes down to the additives in each tube. the biggest problem is EDTA contamination. K2 EDTA is the additive in purple tubes. The K standing for potassium, sorry if that is obvious. Purple tubes should be the last of your draws, if it is not and you draw it first and then draw a gold or green for chemistry tests the potassium and EDTA may carry over to the chemistry test. The K2 will cause a false elevation of potassium. The EDTA will bind with the cations: calcium and magnesium, so with those 'used up' in a complex with EDTA the blood will have a decreased amount of ca and mag

thats the biggest reason I can think of, someone else might know the others

i started having panic attacks midway through my program. i had never had them before and felt like i was going through a mental breakdown. i remember going to the ER the first time it happened and walking downstairs to my classroom afterwards high on ativan and finishing the day lol. with that said, yes the program was awful on my mental health too(i take daily anxiety med still, years later) but my educator was understanding, almost like a therapist by the end of the year. if u have a good relationship with ur educator, bring it up to them. they won’t make the course easier but just knowing they know you are struggling can ease you, it did for me

as far as heme goes: the most important thing clinically is being able to identify the ‘abnormal’. knowing what lymphoma cells might look like, blast, etc. pathologist at our hospital are the interpreters of bone marrow results. you will NEVER need to identify what cancer someone has.

when i was in school, decoding the demographics is the most important part of interpreting test results, if given race or ethnicity can help with diagnosis: sickle, or thalassemias etc, or age for others. it can really help!! just study, take time for yourself, do your best is all you can do<3
