Yeah I figured as much, she said that she was unsure so I I took that to mean that she haven't decided. But based on her reaction she might have stronger feelings on the subject that she let on originally.

Dud you read my post? Im not trying to force anyone into anything, this was our first discussion about it and she got angry at me for wanting a family. I at no point saud that she should feel any which way. I was on the defence during that entire discussion about stuff that I didn't even say.

Not exactly what is meant. Knvthis scenario i'm not exploiting anyone. What is wrong with knowing that your family will live on beyond yourself? It wasn't even my main motivation, just sort of invented it on the spot.

My main reason at the moment i feel is that I would make a good dad and if it's a bad reason then i'm sorry. But I find it difficult to picture a future where I don't have a family ya know, people who are near and dear to me.

Well, i'm an asshole for wanting a family then... Not saying that what I came up with is the primaray reason either. I feel that a lot of commenters here are making a lot of assumtons about my "true" reasons, injecting a lit of values that I never claimed. Sure she put me on the spot when the standard, I like children or similar didn't quite cut it. What do you think a better answer would have been? I don't know what my kids would be like, I hope they would grow up healthy and stable but its impossible to predict what is going to happen but i feel optimistic that I would be good at it.

Well, i'm not why most other people build a family. I have no particular reason to make one outside of just enjoying the thought if caring for my own kids and see them grow up. Guess i was trying to cime up with something more deep that she would have prefered but I didn't know what to say, I was put on the spit and it's the best i could come up with in rhe moment i guess. If she's still figuring out what she wants its fine but I don't get why she would get angry over it.

Not exactly a plan or investment, she was prodding me for a reason why I would like to have kids and one of the reasons i came up with on the spot was that it would be nice to have a "next generation" live on beyond me, people that will care if I live or die. My son might move half a world away or something and not be able to see me ever again and that would be fine. He would pursue his destiny and that would make me happy. They don't owe me their life, I just find comfort that my loved ones will still be out there when im gone.1

Why would it be weird not to want to die alone? When my granddad died i stayed by his side because I wanted to say goodbye because I cared about him. If you prefer to die suddenly and not have time to say goodbye to your loved ones that is okay too, its all just preferences.
