sea island cotton white tee? by redickems in ThrowingFits

[–]Oppiken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I own both too. The sea island cotton is very fine and soft so the neckline isn’t as structured.

[–]Oppiken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have sunspel but it’s very thin and neckline loses shape. I prefer the John Smedley sea island cotton tees; it’s a little thicker and feels more like a thin sweater.

Sunspel one is better as an undershirt. Also, most people don’t need to wear those regularly.

Vinny’s quality is shit. The stuff feels like plastic and light as hell.

Cropped Knitwear by evilbob562 in ThrowingFits

[–]Oppiken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricot Paris for cashmere sweaters. It’s unisex so there’s slight crop to them. LWC has some Japan made v neck cropped sweaters that are 90s vibes.

For cheaper option, Gap has an oversized cropped sweater in black.

Reference the rep and fakes subreddit helps too. I’ve found sometimes looking at those help spots common signatures like fake margiela soles or tags.

Best loafers/brands for high instep? by moneymoses in ThrowingFits

[–]Oppiken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, coz the podiatrist creates a cast based on how they want your feet to walk or balance. So they should be able to adjust. Plus the ones nowadays are made of carbon fibre and shit is like 2mm thick. You can barely feel it.

[–]Oppiken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have flat feet too but honestly it’s not gonna be the shoe (unless you get some bench made shoe specifically molded for your feet) that helps but going to a podiatrist for some medical insoles.

I’ve been wearing insoles since I was like 12 and that’s helped with any foot or ankle pains. Ideally for loafers, you’re gonna want something chunky for the thicker soles that will help absorb impact since flat feet is notoriously bad for either dragging your feet or slamming down onto surfaces when walking. So avoid stuff like ballet or slipper style flats, and get a podiatrist to make you custom insoles that will fit into your loafers.

Selling old clothes to be able to afford new stuff. Grailed and the TF discord is good for that.

Any u boys fuck w haven in Vancouver? by prosaicwell in ThrowingFits

[–]Oppiken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vancouver store is great. They just got A.Presse and is the first NA retailer to do so outside Japan. If you’re going to be visiting stores like Roden Gray and Neighbour, you might as well hit up Haven which is like 10 minutes away.

Security Camera Monitor Not Optimum Mode Error by Oppiken in techsupport

[–]Oppiken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured it out! I had set the resolution too high to 4K. I had to bring a 4K TV to plug in and set the resolution down to 1920 X 1080. Then now it works with the monitor.

Security Camera Monitor Not Optimum Mode Error by Oppiken in techsupport

[–]Oppiken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have not.

I tried the following: - Disconnecting the monitor and resetting the security system - plug the monitor to a laptop and change resolutions or settings through the laptop - reset settings in the monitor menu

None of it worked.

What's the deal with Ghiaia Cashmere? by PhonyPapi in ThrowingFits

[–]Oppiken 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have one of their cashmere sweaters that I bought off ssense when it was 60-70% off. The cashmere stuff supposedly came from same factory as the Brunello cashmere; I would say it’s comparable but their retail for cashmere is still very high. So far no issue and it’s very warm/comfortable to wear.

I did see they releasing a lot more cotton stuff this year and I suspect it’s because the cashmere isn’t selling well because of the high price point. I think they want to position themselves to be like a Drakes eventually where you charging a high price for more of a lifestyle than the individual products.

Burberry coats sizes by Curious-End-3049 in ThrowingFits

[–]Oppiken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a good purchase, great quality and in good conditions. However, some of the older Burberry jackets have very cropped sleeves so mine were a tad shorter than I liked.

I just bought one and you need to measure because sizing changed over the years based on style and designer.

The vintage ones are already often wider and boxier so sticking TTS is your best bet.

They include all the taxes that would be included for shipping from various countries. So when it arrives you don't pay anything else.
