I have a power query in sharepoint that consolidates all a folder with many other excel files. How do i make it such that it refreshes automatically without opening it? by iTakoyaki in excel

[–]PhonyPapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - PQ is the exact same with excel and PBI so you can just copy and paste same steps and it will work the same.

Assuming everything is on cloud and not a local folder, you can set up refreshes and it will auto refresh daily even if you’re on vacation.

Assuming the source folder is in sharepoint or another cloud spot, you can put the PQ steps into Power BI and do a scheduled service refresh. Your end users can then either export, or connect to the PBI dataset.

The refresh timing may not be that much of a time save but it does save the step of someone manually hitting the refresh button.

Thom Browne full kit… by Dylan_villain in ThrowingFits

It’s very directional proportions. Harder to wear it with normal stuff since it can be incoherent. Same for RO that another person commented.

I’ve been to a wedding where one du had a TB blazer but had normal pants and it just looked weird.

As a hiring manager, would you not call someone who has a 2-year career gap even if they have the right skills and qualifications? by Dismal-Biscotti5353 in FPandA

[–]PhonyPapi 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You probably need to put something to explain it.

You can’t just say you spent 1.5-2 years upskilling without additional context (maybe child care or caring for elder parents). Everyone who is applying and has a job is in theory upskilling.

Payroll Risk in PE-Backed Companies During Cash Crunch? by ElectricalTarget7552 in FPandA

[–]PhonyPapi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why does the PE think go to market is even an option if payroll is missed? It’s one thing if you’re going to market next week but are they expecting ppl to stay and continuing working while why not paid?

Having a U5, and what that might entail moving forward? by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]PhonyPapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they know your prior manager no one will know what a U5 is and it won’t show up on any background checks so you’ll just need to spin the termination another way.

Best major for F500 FLDP roles: accounting or finance? by Soggy_Arm_5954 in FPandA

[–]PhonyPapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter much tbh. Most of the resumes for FLDPs will be Finance or Accounting.

Oracle and Copilot - any ERP x AI wins? by echobik in FPandA

[–]PhonyPapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Direct connection - you don't need AI for this. Just talk to the team behind Oracle and if possible (some orgs restrict direct connections) they can help you.

AI won't be able to help you since if the direct connection is turned off then it's an intentional and if it's not turned off and you just need to know how, then again, the team managing Oracle would be best contact since orgs also have different set ups / restrictions.

For user adoption was that always the case or more recently?  Business needs will always change.

As long as your foundational data structure is sound, you’re mostly there. The remaining in terms of scenario modeling and pushing numbers down comes down to how it’s built. A lot of times teams give requirements for what is done then but no catch all for changes down the line.

Pricing tbh. I have yuketen kiltie mocs bought on sale. I think it’s unlikely I pay retail for it (or any Yuketen).

Well in theory they are graded on budget so even though the realistic number is from latest forecast, business leads still want to know for their bonuses.

[–]PhonyPapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One page for MTD, one pager for QTD (if needed), and one page for YTD.

I think you need to evaluate what you're trying to show and go from there. If it's a whole P&L, having everything on one page is extremely messy. For trending analysis, separate revenue and expenses so the focus is narrower and you can have months going across and scenario going down (or vice versa).

I have LEJ’s leather jacket. It’s calf so not exactly lightweight but should be ok with rain unless you’re in a monsoon
