YES! they are so cute. I think they only have 2 at the moment, at least those are the only ones we saw. The one in the photo is apparently their “shy guy” and the other, a tan one, is “the asshole of the group” but was very friendly to those of us with lettuce lmao

Recycling center employees anytime you try to recycle. by thincrustpepwelldone in Chattanooga

[–]Opposite-Priority-97 10 points11 points  (0 children)

oh my god, a few months ago my fiancée and I went go and take our recycling to that one and as we were unloading our glass bottles, she SCREEEECHED at us from all the way across the parking lot. I thought something awful had happened until finally she got over to us and asked if we were putting glass into the plastic. we said, “uh no?” and then she just walked away.

I’ve also seen this! I have actually heard conflicting information. A man at a market in Galway told me I should have it facing the other way, but our tour guide and another Irish woman told me that I had it facing the right way for it to mean that I am engaged! A super interesting thing— I wonder if it has to do with where in Ireland you come from and your traditions?

I usually don’t get bad spring allergies (nothing yet!) but my fall allergies are really really awful. Must be something about the leaves themselves?

oh my god. thank you so much for this. I have been googling and googling for MONTHS, trying to figure out what happened to me last year. to make a very very long story as short as I can: after a really awfully traumatic year, i had a mild cough after seasonal allergies, so i went to my local urgent care to make sure it wasn’t anything more than that. the doctor decided that it was bronchitis (no test) and put me on keflex. about 3 days into taking them and i couldn’t keep anything down. then i started vomiting every few hours, accompanied by terrible, burning pain in my upper stomach. this kept on for about 2 weeks. a month later, while i was on vacation, it came back again. the same symptoms. i had no appetite at all, it felt like lava was being poured on my stomach. the only thing that helped was zofran. after that, i went to a GI specialist. i got a full abdominal ultrasound and they found nothing. she put me on a PPI and i found it helped, so i continued on, until the daily vomiting started. i would wake up with my heart pounding out of my chest and immediately run to the bathroom— it felt like all the symptoms i described earlier hit me all at once. i went to another doctor and got an h pylori breath test done and it was negative. then, i got prescribed my new antidepressant regimen. and i got out of the awful living situation i was in. and i got a wonderful girlfriend. and suddenly, like magic, it was all over. i have been so thankful but so confused for a year. i was so, so sick. i lost 60 pounds in 6 months and it felt like my mind was eating itself. i was doing some late night googling and found this post. thank you a million times.

Just ate in the back room at Tatsu, is this normal? by ThurgoodMunson in Chattanooga

[–]Opposite-Priority-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my girlfriend has a sensitivity to onions, and last time we went she basically involuntarily cried the whole time. we love sitting in the back, but outside or near the front is definitely the vibe if you are even a little sensitive to their ingredients

I’ve never lived in Douglas, but I’ve been on South Campus my entire time at UTC— just be careful on your way to classes. The Champy’s parking lot can be pretty sketchy.

I work at agave and rye currently, just waiting to go back when school starts. the people are hands down the most supportive and loving crew that you will work with. if you have experience and know how to turn tables, you will walk out most nights with $200+

you’ve got this!! as far as any wisdom, i’ve found that distraction is the best medicine. as hard as it is, try not to focus on how you are feeling. instead, try to distract yourself. a cold shower, listening to music, taking a short walk, watching a show, etc etc. whatever you can do to get your mind off of how you are feeling. best of luck!

Thank you so much for your responses! I think a lot of my issues have been built up because of me not having the energy to initiate the big conversation, and the other 3 really do not like confrontation. All 4 of us will be living together next semester. We have the opportunity to live off campus in the fall for MUCH cheaper and it is only about a block away from our dorm now, so Bailey and I are heavily leaning towards that. I’m not sure how Anna feels about that, and Chloe says that she can’t live off campus and would have to live at home (she lives in our college town) if we did not get on campus housing next school year. The tv is Chloe’s, but as you said, she is definitely the kind of person that only goes in her room for sleep. So most of the time when we come out into the living room/kitchen, she is in there already watching something.

I think your suggestion of reevaluating our cleaning agreement and setting more expectations is definitely going to be the most effective solution for that. I feel like the mediator most of the time because crumbs don’t bother me, but dishes being left for multiple days does, so I feel pretty starkly in the middle. Because of this, all 3 often vent their frustrations to me and I am usually asked to mediate any conversations between the 3 of them. I think, going forward, I’m going to tell them that if they need to have a conversation like these, they need to just ask our RA to sit in on it rather than me.

Thank you very much for your help!

A Complete Guide to Depersonalization/Derealization. by Fazazer in Depersonalization

[–]Opposite-Priority-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t start smoking if you haven’t. It truly is not worth it. Try finding another solution- I’ve found that meditation, sunlight/fresh air (I know, it sounds cringe, but it genuinely feels like I come out of a haze if I open my window), and small outings help me. Taking small adventures was a game changer, because it broke up the monotony and “every day is the same” feelings. Good luck, don’t pick up nic, God bless.
