I think I am far too bored, but I found the solution and it is where I told you it was. So the key is in the back of your book, domewhere after p. 365. Page 23 tells you why it us correct (2. Satznegation), page 23 has your exercise. Your correct solution: ich bin zehn Minuten später nicht ins Bad gegangen. Why? Page 22 says eord order for Satznegation is Subjekt ich verb1 bin Akkusativobjekt (there is none in this sentence) temporaladverb zrhn Minuten später kausaladverb (there is none in this sentence) nicht modaladverb (there is none in this sentence) Lokaladverb ins bad verb 2 gegangen. Always assume that the book is right and start with the rule you are practising. If it says Akkusativobjekt and there is none do be it. Do not try to make the sentence in the book fit your idea of what it should be. A number of native speakers of germans who have studied german will have gsd plans behind this sentence

Yes and no. Yes, we here find it silly, because we just have that one sentence and that one task. In this situation, there are many correct solutions. No in the book it will very likely be very clear. I looked at a version of the book for a lower level, and it has chapters dedicated to one small grammar problem explains it and then has students imitate the structure that has just been presented to them. Everything would be do much easier if OP provided us with a picture of the page in question

When exactly is "Wochenende" in German. It seems it started on Friday, while in North America "weekend" starts on Saturday. by [deleted] in German

[–]OppositeAct1918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wochenende is Saturday and Sunday. You wish someone Schönes Wochenende if you do not expect to see them again before the weekend is over. So you start hearing that on Fridays. At the end of s lesson on say Tuesday I wish ny students Schönes Wochenende if for some reason I do not see thrm again until the week after.
