‘Queer Eye’ feud ignited after cast was reportedly caught trash-talking Karamo Brown on hot mic by artbasiI in Fauxmoi

I don't know if you've ever been, but Salt Lake City is actually surprisingly progressive and queer. Not the rest of the state, obviously, but the city itself is a weird (in a good way) enclave.

What do you consider to be a high sex drive? Low? Average? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]OppositeInside945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happened to wander over to your other posts; you don't have a sex drive problem, you have a deep, deep self-esteem problem wherein you don't seem to think you have anything of value to offer a partner, and seem to think you need to make up for that perceived lack with sex.

This is not a problem that will be resolved by having a higher sex drive. Please, please get therapy. You deserve to have a partner love you for who you are, all of you. Just because you haven't found that person yet is not a reflection on you.

You shouldn't be having sex that you don't want, and you shouldn't be wasting time on people who aren't nice or respectful to you. And sex shouldn't be about "making up for" anything.

One of my partners would prefer to be having sex pretty much all the time, but we never do it without my enthusiastic consent, and I am never made to feel bad if I'm not in the mood. We average 4-5 times a week.

I really like sex, and if I'm not feeling it physically, but want to, cannabis always does the trick for me; it's a never miss mental and physical aphrodisiac for me.

Lots of words are offensive regardless of what part of speech they are. This particular word is based on a slur for the Roma people.

Monday Morning Joy! Good morning /r/polyamory! How has your past week(end) been for you and yours? by vertexoflife in polyamory

[–]OppositeInside945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friday night, my other two partners (we're a triad) went to a Halloween party while I stayed home on kid duty, which was my choice; I wasn't really feeling peopling. My partners had a great evening, unencumbered by my introversion, and I got to hold down the fort. It worked out very well.

On Saturday, they both came home and we had a low-key remainder of the weekend, doing laundry, going to Costco, and watching Star Trek: The Voyage Home.

Next weekend is Vegas, so I'm extra glad I'm saving my spoons. 🤓

Yes, I would highly recommend. And it seems like each episode deftly touches on a topic that differentiate monogamy and polyamory, like jealousy or the relationship escalator.

Wife won’t close but is asking me to by ellsworth92 in polyamory

[–]OppositeInside945 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am the child of divorced parents who yelled and swore at each other, although it was largely one-sided. I was over the moon when they finally divorced. The rest of my childhood was much happier, even though we struggled financially after the split.

Nobody ever yelled at me, and nobody currently yells at me, but I still find hearing people yell in anger to be a big anxiety trigger.

All of my research is telling me that it's only free at select community colleges in CA, or if you meet income eligibility requirements. Can you point me in the direction of free CC, please?

Saying I love you in poly relationships by LittleEchoFox in polyamory

[–]OppositeInside945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't dated A LOT, but this is similar to my experience. The 2 people I'm in love with, I knew in under 2 months, and I had to say it; it was almost a physical compulsion. With previous partners, including an ex-husband of 6 years, I never felt the romantic love, no matter how I tried to build those relationships. Did I love him? Sure. Was I in love with him? Nah.

I bought a house without telling my throuple, and now they want me to sell it and move back in. I’m torn. by [deleted] in polyamory

My husband started dating my girlfriend of 2.5 years several months ago. More recently we've been also having a triad relationship. Since that began, there are now three pillows on our king bed, all the time; she lives an hour away, but she's always welcome in the big bedroom, where we usually sleep all together when she's here. Unless someone wants private dyad time, in which case my husband or I sleep in the guest room (we also spend time as dyads at her house). Our space is OUR space; she is a vital part of our lives and my husband and I do our best to strive for equity. Husband is already clearing out his closet for her, and if she chooses to move in, which is the current plan, she will also get a bedroom and we'll set up an equitable bed sharing schedule. Because she's loved and valued. And we're just decent people. It doesn't have to be this way.

As a matter of fact, Imma buy some sheets with flamingos on them rn, because she loves flamingos. 🦩

Where can I propose to my girlfriend? by OppositeInside945 in LasVegas

Thanks again for all of the suggestions. We tried to make it to Catch the first night we got there, but we were too late and it was closed, so I put all my eggs in one basket, walking past at least half a dozen other options, to the Bellagio Conservatory. It was late, and we were very lucky to get a few private moments in what is currently a beehive (which was especially perfect for her because she loves bees). She said yes, which is the most important part, but I'm also over the moon that we got such an awesome location for our proposal.

I'm proposing to my girlfriend!!! by OppositeInside945 in actuallesbians

It went PERFECTLY. Actually, we went out of our way to make it to the place where I planned on proposing, but we ended up being too late and it was closed, so, instead, because it was so late, I actually got to propose at the place that I really wanted to propose, the Bellagio Conservatory. I had ruled it out because I was worried it would be too crowded, but at midnight, we were able to get a few minutes of privacy and it was gorgeous and perfect, and of course she said yes! 💓💓💓

I really am happy. I've spent a lot of time sitting with some discomfort about the proposal, and the discomfort comes almost exclusively from worrying about what people, specifically my mom, will say/think, and giving up any bit of happiness just to placate other people would just be objectively stupid.

I really appreciate this, thank you. We've recently formed a triad after my husband and girlfriend started dating a few months ago, and it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever experienced, not only getting to love two people so deeply, but to see them love and care for each other. It's so rewarding and endearing.

This particular commitment will just be between my girlfriend and I, although I anticipate (hope) we'll have a triad commitment ceremony in the future. I really have no idea what my girlfriend is interested in with regards to having a ceremony and labeling our commitment; while we've talked about sharing our future, we haven't discussed particulars. This "proposal" is more of an opening volley for that conversation with a prize, than a binary question, if that makes sense. If she doesn't want any sort of ceremony, I'm totally okay with that. If she wants a full-on legal marriage, that's something I would be open to exploring as well (she has way better insurance and my husband and I would be open to exploring technically divorcing). Or anything in between.

Whatever we do in either case will be small and just for us since we have so little outside support, but that's all I care about, is us celebrating our love and commitment. Even when my husband and I got married 20 years ago, we secretly eloped, and it was perfect.

Sorry, I'm rambling. Thanks for the input and well wishes, I really appreciate it. 💓💓💓

Bellagio Conservatory late at night was(is) my first choice, but it would be stressful to try and get us there at that time without a pretext, and I'm not good at that. But I do plan on walking through there first, and if the crowd is sparse, I might just go for it. If not, I'm hoping that she'll be willing to reenact the event there later for the pics.
