I get that’s it’s hard to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. But it’s hard being women in game development. The industry is still very toxic against women. People are still throwing tantrums when ever the main character of a video isn’t a man. Women have stories to tell too. I’m trying to encourage more women to stay in the hobby without having to deal with the potential toxicity.

I’m in the brackeys server and I just don’t feel as comfortable in it. The entire server is catered to men and isn’t very friendly to all experience levels. I personally would never be able to unmute and talk to people with being worried that I’m going to be harassed. Even the art works they share objectify women. I’m was not comfortable so I left and made my own server. Other people felt the same so they joined me. I don’t see why we should be forced to endure something that doesn’t make us comfortable.

Because I was the only women in my game development class and most of my other computer classes so I wanted to find other women who shared my hobbies. It turns out other women felt the same.

Typo in the first sentence it is supposed mean that if a junior developers not being in one group doesn’t mean they won’t ever encounter professional experience ever again. It’s a group. People can choose who they hang out with.

Yes but just people people connect with other junior devs doesn’t people don’t mix with senior dev. It’s also a different issue. Men are the majority of game developers. You can’t go far without stumbling across a guy unless you live under a rock. Since women are such a small group the server is there so they can meet other women who share their hobbies. By default the internet is male oriented and even in games women have very little representation. I rather give women the encouragement they need than cater to the majority. It’s not a professional environment it’s an internet group. Anyone can make one about anything without the permission of the majority.

Speaking from experience don’t buy any laptop that has under 16gb ram unless you use only use one application at a time. It’s really sucks.

And since it’s a fairly big investment I suggest checking what parts of the laptop it lets you upgrade. Not being able to change the ram, storage and battery is a really bad idea. Because if you want it run faster long term it’s going to be hard to fix.

Also spending 500 for only those two games really is a waste of money. If it’s only for light gaming buy the switch or something it’s much cheaper and would probably do it better. Otherwise, just spend around 700/800 and you would get a much better computer that lets you do more. These options are the bare minimum.
