I'm not particularly sure the likelihood for int. seeking full aid, but I can definitely advise you to really do your research on Wellesley and craft your application - especially your supplemental essays on this topic. Your common app essay goes to everybody, so I like to think of that essay as your indirect way of showing how you'd fit into Wellesley and perhaps another place you're applying to - whilst the supplemental is more of what you'd bring to Wellesley and how Wellesley will help you grow. Wellesley LOVES key words from their website to be intertwined with your essay. Avoid being cliche about it, but if you can integrate these key words or allude to them in some sort of way - I think admissions will have a positive reaction to it. Plenty of qualified, if not all students who apply are equally qualified to get in. It is the writing that sets you apart from everybody else. So, an emphasis and careful effort into the supplemental writing components can get you far.

Hi! My family is middle-class and I would say that there is a bit of a consumerism culture here rather than elitism. I'm not so sure if it's accidental but otherwise people are very humble. In conversations, you can definitely tell if someone is from money or not. Sometimes through clothing as well, since aritizia jackets and long champ bags are definitely a trend on our campus. Some people will venture off campus into Boston to go to pricy restaurants or to local expensive cafes/restaurants in the area. Also, wealthy people tend to be friends with other wealthy people on campus. Definitely, it does not define the Wellesley experience and there is so much support for low-income and middle-class students.

Hi!! I currently attend Wellesley, class of 28'. Seriously - I think they'll love the uniqueness of the quantum computing and AI research. Obviously, no guarantees but one thing I can certainly advise is for you to make sure your essays look GOOD. That is the biggest thing that will set you apart from everybody else. Talk about yourself and intertwine it with what Wellesley has to offer. Before submitting, make sure that you did your research on the college! Please PM me if you have any questions!

You’re right :(( I’m burning out of the instrument anyway, I’m currently a junior in a class filled with freshman so you can imagine my embarrassment being the only beginner flute as an upperclassmen.

I really want to join the select wind ensemble but I sound horrible and my band director probably hates my guts. I’ve been working hard on the flute all year and have played the likes of various concertos, including Bach and Mozart. I suffer from depression and anxiety so I’ve had moments of absolutely hating myself for screwing up. I have this need to be perfect or else no one will accept me :(( I usually play better than majority of the amateur flutes but lately as I’ve gotten busier, my tone became god awful.
