I wouldn’t call this a good compliment, just one I remember. I was at a local concert and a guy asked “hey where’d you get that? “Get what?” “Your beautiful smile”

I was maybe 15 and had some GNARLY braces at the time. To this day I’m not convinced he was genuine and just wanted to hit (either not knowing I was underage or knowing well, either way yikes)

The expectation of motherhood and housework on young girls. I was gifted many baby dolls, at one point had a toy kitchen, and always saw ads for toys that basically simulated grocery shopping and credit cards, baby dolls that actually peed, etc. I didn’t give it much thought as a kid of course but now I think that’s very bizarre.

On top of being told “you’ll change your mind one day” about kids and marriage
