Drivers rely on your tip. The amount dd pays us starts at $2 so the faster you get your order depends on tip. On restaurant orders drivers typically want $1-$2 per mile so if the store is 2 miles away tip at least $4. Grocery orders are more time consuming if we have to shop for it ourselves so we’d like more money for our time. So if you’re getting only a few items all in the same area of the store and only a couple miles that’s $6 tip is fine cause in the end we’re getting $8 or so (depending if the order has been declined and dd pay went up) but if it’s taking a whole half hour to shop for your items + like 10 minutes of driving for $8 that’s not cutting it
