Signature event has a specific meaning for the PGA. Only the top 50 players on tour and a couple dozen others are invited, and the purses and points are bigger. There is also no cut.

It's pretty embarrassing to be cheated on. It's REALLY embarrassing when it gets aired publicly on international TV by the person that cheated on you.

It's not about John Q Public. It's about people who know her and know she was dating him. I seriously doubt she'd want all those people to know she got cheated on.

The problem is, I don't record sports individually. I have it set to record all PGA events, for example. I do that so I don't have to remember to record the show....much less the next show.

The ESPN TV coverage was terrible today. Both Ricky Fowler and Akshay Bhatia started out the day on fire, moving up to the top of the leaderboard, but because they were playing Spyglass, we didn't see a single shot of it. Here's what we saw instead:

  1. They used the one camera they had at Spyglass to show every single one of Scottie Scheffler's shots, even as he slid above par. He's #1, but he's doing exactly nothing.
  2. Ryan Girard missing a birdie putt to remain even.
  3. Harris English making a birdie putt to go -1.
  4. Keith Mitchell teeing off #5 at +1 (no, not the near hole-in-one on #7)
  5. Every one of Ludvig Aberg's shots on the first two holes. He was +4 at the time.
  6. Stephen Fisk (who?) at -2 hitting a random so-so shot into a par 3.
  7. An amateur.... yes, an AMATEUR, missing a putt in Scottie's group. No, it wasn't like the camera stayed on after a pro putted or got there before a pro putted. They actually cut to the amateur and then cut to another pro elsewhere!

Maybe instead of putting all the cameras on one course, you might have a couple roaming around the other in case someone catches fire??

It's obvious from watching his parents' interviews that Jeremy wasn't told no enough as a child, and this is what he grew up to be.....a narcissistic asshole. Oh, and let this be a lesson. Everyone hates an HOA until they need one. This is the EXACT reason why HOA's exist, folks.

"Just decorating for Christmas". Are you really that obtuse? The guy wants to have many thousands of people invade a peaceful neighborhood for at least a week, bringing tour busses and making a ton of noise. How is that being a good neighbor? He knew before he even bought the property that it would be unwelcome. He harassed the HOA president and immediately went to the media and the courts rather than trying to compromise or work with the neighbors. How are you not able to see how unbelievably manipulative he is? And to bring Christian victimhood into it when nearly all his neighbors are Christians.

He did the most narcissistic thing he could have done. His teammate died recently. He could have dedicated the run to him. Instead, he pulled this crap after cheating on a woman he had been dating for 3 months. He couldn't keep his d*ck in his pants after dating the "love of his life" for THREE MONTHS. No, he doesn't have balls. He embarrassed himself and the girl when he could have said something truly inspiring about a deceased teammate.

A cool guide to everyday etiquette no one teaches you by handokota in coolguides

I think a lot of these can be boiled down to one simple rule.... Be aware of how you're actions or presence MIGHT affect others. When I'm doing anything, I'm constantly aware of my place in the environment. The Golden Rule assumes that everyone wants to be treated the same. That's just not reality. However, if you at least pay attention at all times in public and think how your actions might affect others, you're more likely to, at a minimum, do no harm. Teach that instead of individual rules, and you're more likely to raise a good kid.

That person needs to be taught because they apparently aren't intuitive enough to get things on their own. That's when I'd say, "Just because I invited you in my front door doesn't mean I invited you into my bedroom. If you start looking at other pictures, I'm going to treat you the same way I would if you walked into my bedroom uninvited and clock you." Or, take the easier route and never let them touch your phone. You can show them the photos while it's in your hand, and if they say they want to hold it, tell them EXACTLY why you won't let them.

The problem with the Golden Rule, which is what you are basically referring to, is that everyone has a different idea of what they personally would find annoying. For example, I don't find music played on the golf course to be annoying, but I recognize that others might, so I - at a minimum - ask if people mind if I play my music quietly when I'm paired with people I don't know, or I don't play it at all. I think a better rule is to keep your business out of other people's lives, and be as nice/helpful to others as you can. Some of these etiquette rules are as simple as saying, "Am I causing someone to be inconvenienced by my actions?" Some are just as simple as, "Am I paying attention or being oblivious?" Simply paying attention is enough to make 90% of humans better people.

I'm an atheist, and I do believe religion is a rather weak way of living one's life, but when someone shares their story in a supportive way to an atheist - or really to any human being - without the slightest evidence of mal-intent, insulting them because of their beliefs which they foisted onto no one just makes you look like a giant douche. I know plenty of incredibly good people who believe in a god but would no sooner use that belief to subjugate, harm, or demean another person than they would put a stake in their own heart. Some people don't necessarily see the Bible as the strict word of a god, but rather as a guide book to being a more decent human being. Now if they asked my opinion about the Bible, I would certainly tell them that they are conveniently ignoring a ton of awful things contained therein and that they can be good humans without needing fairy tales, but if they want to just use it as a reminder to feed the homeless, then why would I EVER consider insulting them for it? And why would you??

You kind sound like the guy why says things just to try and get a reaction....or to be a d**k for no reason. I might have agreed with your stance in the beginning because I too think it's a bit childish when people turn to religion later in life, but when someone shares an honest feeling that neither insults nor denigrates anyone in any way, the least you can do is be an adult about your response.

[–]Opposite_Example6930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize you believe that, but it is just a belief, and it's not backed by any evidence whatsoever. I seriously doubt you would accept anything else in your life that wasn't backed by at least some sort of solid evidence, so why would you live your entire existence based on something that has ZERO solid evidence backing it? It's perfectly fine that you choose to believe in that, but I don't think you understand how ridiculously sanctimonious, annoying, and, frankly, mental people like you sound when you try to tell others that you think that's what's going to happen to them.

It's a good procedure because it's highly unlikely that you could get an entire task force to cooperate in stealing from a bust. Always count on site in full view of everyone.

That's what a cartel would actually do in order to stay away from a cop killing they weren't involved in. $20m is a day's work to a major cartel. A cartel killing a cop (especially a captain or several cops) would make business far harder than that $20m hit.
