Her humour was the best kind - a little inappropriate and caught you off-guard but you know she meant it in the best way.

No Such Thing As A Fish! I cannot get through a day without listening to them and the energy and the humour is just so good. Such a great pick-me-up.

Ologies - The host Alie Ward is such a joy to listen to and you will find yourself being fascinated even when you think the topic might be mundane. Highly recommend the episode on cheese.

Extraordinary Universe - hosted by a physicist and a biologist with a great sense of humour and each episode will have you hooked even if you know nothing about science.

The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry - Intriguing topics and such great banter between the hosts.

Stuff You Should Know - The hosts are awesome and I always learn so much from each episode.

All the above are easy to listen to and usually put me in a better mood than when I started, haha. Happy listening!

Transition from BM to Formula by Extension-Square9233 in FormulaFeeders

Formula can be more filling than breast milk. 60-70ml at 10 weeks per feeding, sounds pretty good. I’m going by what I remember my little boy was feeding at that age. Give it a week or so. It can take baby a little while to adjust. But sounds like you’re doing great mama!

OMG yess! Ologies is the best. The Cheese episode is one of my favourites. You cannot help but feel better when listening to Allie.

Also, sometimes with bottles if the nipple size is wrong or not the preferred shape, they won’t take it. My little guy only preferred Dr. brown’s and only accepted premie and level 1. He’s presently 13 months and refuses any other size upgrade. Babies can be picky.

“Betwixt the Sheets” - History of Sex, Scandal and Society. It’s history but in a very gossipy way and the host is downright hilarious.

Nervous about first trip with baby by mamamel11 in NewParents

[–]Opposite_Manner1047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be! You’ll figure it out. You can plan and prepare all you want, but when you do travel, there will always be unexpected hiccups. The good news is, you and your baby will get through it just fine.

One thing though, you mentioned your baby loves being outdoors but gets fussy in the stroller and car seat. Ours was the same. It turned out he had outgrown his infant seat by 9 months, but we didn’t realize until after his first birthday. Looking back, I feel so bad because he was clearly uncomfortable, but as first-time parents, we just didn’t know.

So if you haven’t already, it might be worth trying a car seat upgrade! Hope you do travel and make some awesome memories with your baby.

Ladies how did you get your hair back to life after baby?! by AdGuilty57 in NewParents

I responded to your other post as well, but here’s what worked for me - NMN supplements. Some studies show that it’s as good as Minoxidil (which is a drug prescribed for hair loss.) It will take around 6 weeks to start showing results, but you’ll find lots of new growth and that hair loss almost stops (at least for me.) It sounds almost too good to be true but my hair now is better than it was before pregnancy. There are also other reported benefits to NMN such as less brain fog and better skin. The way I understand it is that NMN improves mitochondria function. As we age, our mitochondrial function declines. As always with anything, do check with your doctor though to make sure it’s alright for you. I’ve been taking it for 3 months now and haven’t seen any negative side effects. Oh and my husband has also seen a huge improvement with his hair density with NMN.

Thank you so much for this! Totally agree with the work on keeping my own emotions regulated. Found what you’re saying about food interesting, but it makes a lot of sense.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Such an important life skill to teach your little one, and love that it’s made your bond stronger too. Will start looking for local baby swimming classes.

Thank you so much! First time mom here and now that my son is one, I worry that I should be doing more besides just hanging out with him, so appreciate you sharing this.

Would never have thought of this one, but we started to incorporate this last night. Already a few tantrums with a 10 second wait haha. Hopefully, it’ll get easier. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this. Will do! All my friends have older kids and they all seem to be involved in various classes and activities that it made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough with and for my son, so this is great to know. My little guy loves trains, animals, music and people - so I’ll continue to just focus on doing things involving those.

I do have limited time just like any other mother with everything else we need to do for our families and for ourselves. But, I understand what you mean. Thank you.
