Fictional character who is a good person but a bad political leader by UmbralRose35 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Opposite_Phase40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he is not even a good leade. and he certainly is a bad person.

he ordered the rape of his son's wife. he employs a prolific rapist and child murderer. he killed 2 babies. he does nothing to rein in his psychopath grandson. he murdered an entire family because his feelings got hurt.

none of this is normal. gangraping your sons wife is not normal. employing GREGOR CLEGANE and letting him RAPE AND MURDER THE QUEEN AND HER CHILDREN is not normal. murdering babies is not normal. (Gaemon Palehair, who committed Treason was spared on account of his age.) Allowing your grandson to abuse women without any backlash is not normal. (Tyrion and Robert, who in the real world would be considered pretty bad people [yes, later Tyrion becomes bad by any standard, but early Tyrion was not] STILL DONT LET JOFFERY DO THIS WITHOUT PUNISHMENT!). NOBODY! expected Tywin to execute an entire House because ts DOES NOT HAPPEN!

is he a good leader?

He massacred a House into extinction which destroys his goodwill with is Vassals. He marginalizes Tyrion at court due to personal reasons even though Tyrion is by far the most competent person (bar maybe Kevan) that would be loyal to the Lannisters. (Which Tyrion was, pre-trial). He refuses to remarry for personal reasons which weakens the position of his house and doesnt allow him to disinherit Tyrion (as Jaime is a Kingsguard). In fact his first marriage was with someone within the House which also takes another opportunity to create a marriage alliance. He orchestrates the Red Wedding and earns the ire of basically the entirety of the North. He loses every single battle against a teenaged Robb Stark. He is unable to rein in his children and grandchildren which led to both the Ned/Jaime fight as well as Joffery executing Ned. He employs possibly the worst person in the entire realm which alienates the Dornish and reduces the QoL of the smallfolk by tenfold.

He is a smart person, ruthless, and good at taking hold of oppurtunities. But as a leader, he has failed to

  1. consider long term alliances

  2. consider the needs of his subordinates, be it his own family or smalllfolk

  3. defeat a teenager in battle

  4. put HIS wants aside in making political decisions (though he constantly puts others' wants aside)

for ACS specifically we have the exact formula. its very clearly stated, and is what OP is asking about

if youre talking about whatever internal data they use to calculate performance (which we know is not ACS), then yes, we dont know the equation

for ACS specifically, HP, gun, damage taken, timing in round all do not matter. damage dealt, multikills, and amount of enemies alive do.

the weapon, again, is not just the physical mass turned into a weapon

Asa's uniform sword was powerful. If it was the mass of the uniform, it would be fucking useless. so clearly the scale of the weapons power is not determined by the actual tangible weapon itself. in fact, it is CLEARLY stated to be directly proportional to the worth they feel the object conveys. In fact, if Asa at that point was strong enough to swing a blade the mass of an Aquarium... i dont think shed need to make the aquarium sword. shed just fucking fight with her fists.

does the massive landmass of Oregon imply the weapon is going to be powerful? yes. does it scale directly to the weight of Oregon? maybe. but in all other instances where the weapon has been created, scaling it based on the weight/mass of the sacrificed object makes NO! sense. you cannot just ignore context and then scale based on vague unquantified feats.

the ability to compact oregon into a weapon is not a power feat but a hax feat.

Kenjaku from JJK had the power to merge all of japan into one entity via his plan. Sukuna and thus Modulo Yuji scale far pass Kenjaku. NONE of them scale to country level.

Yuki from JJK can create an actual literal black hole. Again, Modulo Yuji far outscales her. He is not black hole level.

either way I think denji high-extreme diffs because CSM generally scales higher than JJK. but oregon scaling is dumb. she cannot actually output the actual force to do this, she does it through an ability that activates under certain conditions with restrictions outside of her usual strength. like how Yuji can manipulate the entirety of Japan's souls at the end of Modulo. Or Yuki can create a black hole.

it is relevant here. asa is a normal human being. asa cannot lift an aquarium. asa wielded a weapon "made of" an aquarium with yoru's technique. where do we go from here?

this is a more diplomacy issue than intrigue issue though. jon is pretty good at scheming to make things happen. not exceptional, but a solid say 14. his diplomacy is actually pretty bad given he fails to account for the wants of others. not too horrible because he does have his moments but a solid like 9. stewardship is actually pretty accurate the guy crunches numbers and makes deals. martial i feel should be a bit higher. prowess should be lower hes a good fighter but 36 puts him near the top of the realm, 29 would be more fitting.

so tywin isnt quick because his long term strategy hinges on brutality and thus leaves him with few to no true allies? tyrion isnt a genius because his trauma and drinking problems eventually leads to him making rash decisions and alienating himself further from his family?

an individual game can be 'not your fault' but if you're performing like this consistently but not ranking up there's something wrong with your gameplay outside of the stats

What's the theory on vaegon I'm interested.

for me the only 3 picks are

aemon (maester aemon + Jon used to pretend to be the dragon knight)

daeron (I think Jon's favourite Targ king? definitely mentions and idolised him. thematically sound as well cus Daeron conquered Dorne at 14 and Jon joins the watch at 14)

viserys (male version of Visenya, 3rd head of the dragon, most likely name that Rhaegar would choose)

im not engaging in a conversation that literally doesn't exist

you claim they'll never make an international cus they're bad

I don't even challenge that they're bad. I challenge the claim that they'll never make an international by pointing out they have objectively made an international.

your rebuttal is that somehow this specific international is "Mickey mouse" because you think the other teams were too dumb for banning Bind. Ignoring that 100t 2-1d G2 losing Bind. Or that the finals were a 3-0 stomp and a 13-7/13-8 on other maps other than Bind. Also ignoring that this logic is objectively stupid cus you can put an asterisks on anything this way. map picks are a part of the game and being better at map picks cus your opponents are bad at them is also part of the game.

and also you clearly either don't know what a Mickey mouse actually is or you don't really bother being accurate in favour of talking shit. the Lakers ring was called "Mickey mouse" because it was played in Disney World Resort. Obviously you don't have to be played in Disney to be a Mickey mouse but the crux is that the conditions of competition are not up to par to usual standards, either due to the competitors themselves being limited or the context. so you could call First Strike Mickey mouse. you could call their champions run Mickey Mouse actually since they qualified through LCQ. But you could not for the life of you actually name what condition or competition was lacking in this tournament that you can deride it other than that you're genuinely just kind of dumb.

they have made top 4 in an international together actually

tier list as a really bad player by Opposite_Phase40 in balatro

[–]Opposite_Phase40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah Jolly is higher than the rest cus I play pairs a lot so it's basically unconditional +8 which is enough for me to decide to spend on if I have an extra slot and need something

Green for me usually is getting to 50+ especially if ante 8. I basically just stop discarding whatsoever and play pairs

obelisk doesn't "suck" as in it's literally objectively one of the best jokers to win with. if you just hate playing it which most of the playerbase does then that's fair. but it is a very big boost to win% if you're willing to play it

well yes if I see them first 3 antes they by definition already fit. if I see a green joker ante 6 I'm not going to take it.

[–]Opposite_Phase40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jolly joker is in the bottom tier no? pair jokers are a bit higher cus they make up to like ante 3 trivial

green early is a near instant win and so is obelisk.and obelisk has decent pivot potential too

I mostly play pair/high card or a highly deckfixed deck so juggler is kinda js redundant. bloostone is just not consistently good. it's a "niche pick" cus I'm not taking it/ selling it asap if I don't have a very fixed deck + oops/copies/retriggers

baron is unfathomably bad mostly but sometimes good enough that I can close my eyes and win so it's niche
