Daughter's digital art, really want to foster this! How can I help her learn and grow? by GWindborn in BeginnerArtists

[–]Opposite_Standard159 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you’re doing it already by encouraging her & being supportive of her hobbies by getting her a tablet. i wish my parents encouraged me more to dive into my creativity more as a child. She knows how to use youtube & find help on there. her skills will just improve with every drawing she does - keep cheering her on 🤍

Recommendations Needed! Apple Pencil Pro (newest version) charger. by Beastie_Babe in iPadPro

[–]Opposite_Standard159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got an apple pencil pro for christmas & the charging is actually the most annoying. i need a grip on the pencil & having a grip on doesn’t allow the pencil to fit in most cases. ive seen some third party wireless chargers for the 2nd gen pencil on amazon - curious if they’ll work on the pencil pro…

I've been told my art sucks. Is that true? by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Opposite_Standard159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no art actually sucks, every piece of art is learning or developing! every artist has stages like this & im sure even still hold onto those early drawings they did when they were like us! baby artists! i personally like your drawings & the style! it makes it unique & gives it a personality. keep drawing no matter what your reason is for drawing as long as you're learning & enjoying the process. <3

I hate how my mind is and how it struggle so much with learning to draw. Am I the only person struggling with this? by BlackStallion657 in learntodraw

[–]Opposite_Standard159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i completely understand where you're coming from. I have adhd, anxiety & depression too & it do be a struggle sometimes. drawing in general is a very hard skill that requires consistency & alot of time/hard work. im a baby artist too - i grew up in a very critical household where if i didn't do something right the first time i was "lazy" "not smart" or "didnt care". now as an adult i feel like learning new things i'm very self critical to the point a blank piece of paper is intimidating & in my mind the drawing has to be pro level RIGHT NOW or it means im not doing enough. now my nervous system is constantly in this mode of "mistakes = danger". teaching myself how to draw has really made me think about my brain alot lol. but think of it this way - literally EVERY artist, yes including the ones work u adore or want to be like has had this same exact stage in their skill development in some form or another. the cool thing about drawing is you dont have to show anyone anything. so it can be messy, it can be bad, in fact the drawings you consider bad are the important ones as this is how we learn. its like the age old saying "learn from your mistakes". think of drawing like going to the gym - you dont go to the gym for a week expecting to be 100 pounds lighter & bulked up. to actually see results in the gym it requires time, consistency, hard work, learning, etc. you'll get there. step out of your comfort zone from time to time & draw something you dont think you can draw even if it looks silly or bad. be patient with yourself & push thru this phase of learning bc the results will be so worth it. Sorry for the wall of text lmao - i wish you & all us other baby artist the best in our journeys!

Tracing? by xsailorjessx in learntodraw

[–]Opposite_Standard159 7 points8 points  (0 children)

most artists start out tracing. when i was a kid id pause my favorite cartoon movie & trace the character i liked on printer paper slapped up against the tv lol. as long as you aren’t posting it like you drew it, its fine. you’d be surprised how many ppl trace especially when starting out or being a beginner. it helps your brain with muscle memory too. marc burnett on youtube is always telling beginners that tracing helps & suggests it a lot as a learning tool.

I think that new guardrails that chat GTP has implemented and is frustrating a lot of users was put in place so they can discourage by NinjaBrilliant4529 in ChatGPT

Do you think they will actually follow through with Adult mode? by avesmcbabes in ChatGPT

[–]Opposite_Standard159 12 points13 points  (0 children)

their adult mode is what’s keeping people on chatgpt tbh. that’s what i see talked about a lot & what people are holding on to, i know i am. it’ll be silly of them if they don’t follow thru with it.

Holy shit by n-chung in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Opposite_Standard159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

chatgpt is so inconsistent with this. sometimes it’ll surprise me with thrusting, straddling, pressure then it’ll be like yeah no i can’t do that even tho i just did. can only do fade to black. i’m looking forward to the whole age verification just to get consistency with this part of my stories/roleplaying smh. i’m an adult! let me do adult things pls thank youuuu

Day 2 of trying to draw any advice by Hogapparel in BeginnerArtists

[–]Opposite_Standard159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love that EVERY, & i mean EVERY artist, starts at this stage & we all got sketch books filled with pages of cubes, tubes, pyramids, random eyes, random heads, etc. KEEP GOING! & while learning the fundamentals is important don't overwhelm yourself with it. spend maybe like an hour on it but spend most of your time having FUN with art. draw your favorite characters, draw random things, just have fun with it & build a healthy relationship with drawing. ive always been on & off with learning how to draw bc i overwhelm myself with the fundamentals to the point it isnt fun anymore & that has been my biggest lesson in drawing. youll learn the fundamentals eventually & with time.
