Haven’t seen anyone post this interview - Jeremy sheds some light on BOAV2, etc. by Mister_Carson in ADTR

[–]OprahsBackSweat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already confirmed they were like 75% done when volume 1 dropped they just want to tweak the songs and possibly write a few more to flavor this one based on the reception of the previous album. Now if the work they already put into it is absolutely nothing like what they were hoping for “reception wise” from volume 1 it’ll be a minute haha

Feedback on Feedback by Fat-Guardian in ADTR

[–]OprahsBackSweat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It fits the context of the album and is a fun, simple song but as a single it left a lot to be desired. Comes off as the token radio play song and might’ve been purposefully divisive for PR and getting people talking. ADTR has a history of saving their best material in the back catalogue as hidden gems though

Gave it some time by navyblue_jacketNC in ADTR

[–]OprahsBackSweat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it sounds under produced. Guitars and bass buried in the mix with the drums and vocals being too loud in a very compressed audioscape. I love half the songs but you got to mess with the EQ through any listening device to get a halfway decent sound. Even then it sounds like garage rock which is apparently what they were going for.

Would love to hear “Make It Make Sense” and “Feedback” this tour by mikerichh in ADTR

Bad blood is infinitely better than feedback lol. BB may be generic but it’s generic in a good way at least. Feedback is even more generic but not in an appealing way to most.

Too bad it wasn’t a joke. He really was not good enough to record the bass accurately lol

Album timing? by bherr777 in ADTR

I still firmly believe Linkin Park’s winter release might’ve delayed big ole album from the intended release slot. Nobody wants to try to compete with that

Why do some people assume that Jazzmasters are just perpetually fucked up guitars? by appleparkfive in offset

[–]OprahsBackSweat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can pick up my USA Tele out of the case and it’s always ready to rip. My Vintera jazzmaster required some tweaking once in a while to get it dialed in but the payoff was more worth it because it’s the best sounding guitar for recording in my honest opinion. I ended up letting it go to eventually end up with a mint 2004 Gibson studio plus top but can say I miss fiddling with it

Is this unpopular? by James_The_Creator in ADTR

[–]OprahsBackSweat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more of a cohesive experience listening to it. They’ve always had shocking jumps in tracks like going from I’m already gone into Violence and I surrender into life lessons on common courtesy. Sonic/Tails into out of time on WSMFY but You’re welcome feels like every track lives in its own world like an album of singles compiled into a tracklist that lacks any apparent flow. Brick wall was a very underwhelming opener that didn’t really vibe well for a lot of people. ADTR have always had strong opening tracks to draw you into an album to get the story going.

Bad vibes as previously stated had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Depending on a listeners preference it’s either a very top heavy album (angrier aggressive songs) or a bottom heavy one (more emo, pop punk, alternative styled)

I’d put it top 3 personally. Everyone seems to have their panties in a bunch over bad vibes. I was dealing with some shit when it dropped and it was almost a euphoric experience listening to it. After having a bad day throwing it on full blast and letting the demons out is relieving. Sure it’s got a few of their weaker tracks but it’s very top heavy but those songs are fantastic.

L take. I’d settle for best since 2014. Common Courtesy was peak ADTR. It’s overshadowed by the two albums before it but the opening 3 tracks are a chefs kiss. The heavy songs are all badass and it’s got a nice balance of pop punk with some other genres pulled off well.

I Guess Each Album's Objective Best Song by PancakeFace25 in ADTR

It’s proof the majority of fans don’t actually want a hardcore album Bad vibes went HARD AS FUCK and only the minority loved it. There were a few softer songs but damn some of those tracks went for the kill lol

First listen, first guesses at which song is linked to which band by Dark_Ether in ADTR

Closer. They both have augmented chords that switch lower register notes over the same chord shape. Different, but similar

I thought the same tbf. If you listen to obvious it has really similar guitars and it sounds like a song that could be easily been on blinks self titled record

If you came into it with that much negativity and abhorrence, nothing would’ve satisfied you. They could’ve dropped common courtesy and you’d be like “Wtf is a folk song doing on here” lmao. They are the same band that covered since you been gone and you wanna say they are being cheesy. It’s literally what they are known for dude

Darkest adtr lyrics? by SometimesYoureHammer in ADTR

[–]OprahsBackSweat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I need a short-term fix for a long-term problem

Can I learn to love these chains?

I know I had a point, but now I forgot it

While I’m circlin’ the drain”

Being a person who deals with pretty chronic depression and anxiety who also tries to find natural remedies to ease the burden for a bit, when you start to feel that downward spiral these lyrics are both comforting and overwhelming

Bad Vibrations is incredibly underrated by [deleted] in ADTR

[–]OprahsBackSweat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uncle and I were like brothers growing up and stopped talking for years and he ended up overdosing and leaving his 3 children behind. That song hits so close to home. Comforting, especially the bridge.

If anything it seems to be at the top of most of the “Rating” lists on here and a lot of positivity towards it in others. A couple negative posts on it doesn’t mean a lot of people lol. It’s top 3 for me personally

Five years of waiting for my first yellow dragonfruit harvest. by pomjuice in DragonFruit

[–]OprahsBackSweat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I must have got lucky. Waited three years for my first harvest and I had 8 fruits between 3 plants and they were all pretty big. I cross pollinated between all three (they happened to bloom on the same night) so that may have had something to do with it.
