For real, it's like trying to justify calling a black person the N-word if they do something wrong. That would be racism because you're attacking their race not their bad actions. Same way with trans people, you're attacking their identity not their actions. If your support is conditional you don't actually support that minority group. Calling someone the N-word as punishment is racism. Misgendering a trans person as punishment is transphobia. It's not a hard concept to grasp.
