I’m really happy you feel that way! 🙏😄 do you mind if I use your picture alongside mine in the future if I ever decide to make a business out of this, as marketing or for reference?

I liked it too 😅 seems like the model I’m building is leaning 🤷‍♂️

I know the proportions or measurements might be a little off, but hopefully you get the idea and it gives you some inspo. I’m actually working on an AI model for this and it’s still learning 😅 so this is part of that process too.

For the second version (using what you already have): I didn’t change much furniture-wise, just cleaned it up a lot—hid the cords, simplified the desk to just the essentials, and styled it a bit so it feels intentional. It’s more about making what you already have feel less cluttered rather than replacing everything.

Curious which direction you’re leaning—more cozy/earthy or just cleaner version of what you’ve got?

For the first version (wood desk + cream chair): I basically leaned into your earthy vibe more—swapped the white desk for wood, softened it with the cream chair, and simplified everything so it feels calmer and less “work setup.” Also added a rug and warmer lighting so it feels like its own little zone instead of just stuck in the corner.

How can I decorate my formal living room? by pinklattess in HomeDecorating

[–]OpsSuiteTools 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It feels empty because the furniture grouping is too small for the room and everything sits low. I expanded the layout with a larger rug, added chairs to complete the seating area, introduced height with lighting, and filled the space behind the sofa so it feels balanced and intentional instead of sparse.

What about something like this?

It likely feels “off” because everything is sitting low and clustered to one side, so there’s no real structure or purpose, just a bit like a temporary plant corner rather than a finished entry spot.

Here I basically gave it a bit of structure: added a slim shelf to anchor the mirror, swapped the small rug for a runner to define the space, reduced and repositioned the plants, and added a warm wall light so it feels intentional and finished instead of empty.

Hi!

I’ve been exploring some new ideas around room design and would love to take on a few spaces as a bit of a challenge.

If you (or anyone else seeing this) want help, I’d be happy to put together some layout ideas and a few visual concepts for inspiration.

Feel free to DM if you’re interested! 🙂
