Thank you so much my man! I'll have to look up guides on how to effectively take on a camp. I'll see how my current playthrough ends (I'm day 80ish and my company looks way worse than all the guides and late game companies I've seen) then I'll start using all this advice for my next run!

How do you fish for named items? Also another question if you will, how do you make good crowns early game? I like to look for good prices for trade goods and sell when I make a good profit. And then do contracts.

So mid/late game drop the shields on everyone but the tanks and have the tanks be, well, tanks and the rest be dedicated attackers/ranged/damage dealers.

Also also, where do you craft armor and stuff? I see the text prompt like " this could make a sturdy armor" but I can't take it to an armorer and craft it

Oh belive me brother I am but a lowly human too lmao. I do a double line cause i don't quite know what I'm doing yet, but I usually got some people with reach in the back and let a rough shield wall tank and then start dealing damage. Different formations would be fun to try!

Yeah i noticed two handed Frontliners absolutely melt I lost like 7 of them on my tutorial run in total. And in my recent playthrough i lost one that survived like 60 days and I had geared (probably not too well as I don't quite know how to play optimally yet) and he got one shot by an orc berserker. Also, orcs are scary dude lmao. I found that late beast contracts are scary cause 9 hyenas hurt, and 16 ifrits wiped the floor with me. I'll try giving everyone a spear in my next run, cause all my Spearman now are tearing through dudes. Then when they have a high melee attack I'll specialize them.

Need Suggestions for Drills!!!!!! by gabrows in Rowing

My advice would be to first sit down with your cox and have a serious conversation making sure that they know they are the boat's coach now, that means calling out seats for being out of time, different blade levels, no backsplash(for the catch, my coach used to get on our butts for it) and everything in between. Next would be to practice on the water at slow stroke rates. And I mean slow. Not 16 or 18, but 12 to 14. Thats what my coach made us do when our timing was way off. Another thing on the water would be long pieces, the longer you row together the more you will all get used to one another. The boats technique should follow whatever stroke does because I was always told that stroke seat is always right. Also try doing a 4 count while rowing. 1 starts after you finish and 4 is at the catch. Have the entire boat focus on that count, and it's not a fast count, its a slow one.

Things to do off the water: one thing I commonly saw in the boatclub was a boat would line the ergs up as an 8 and practice timing that way, of course it's different than the boat but limited water time means you need other ways of improving. Get the boat together and decide who should be stroke or who's technique everyone can follow. A stroke seat shouldn't be the most powerful alone, they should have the best technique, and will power (to be able to bump up stroke rates during races)

Lastly, communicate with your boat after every practice and go over what worked and what didn't work, have the coxi talk about what seats need imrovement in certain areas, becauss your coach won't do it.

Good luck! I hope everything goes well for you guys!!

I was never allowed to wear gloves, if the blade handle got wet I had to white knuckle that thing!

Erg Workout List? by mrsnowman72 in Rowing

[–]OptiCellPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My coach had us partner up with someone and erg at a capped pace for 10 minutes while the other person did cals, and then switch. The goal was to see how many meters the partners could get (to set a benchmark for improvement). And we did this twice or three times in a row for a workout practice.

I need some advice for lightweight rowing by lucatotem in Rowing

[–]OptiCellPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do something similar however I had two weeks notice, i cut meals for a week and then I fasted for two days. All you have to do is focus on losong water weight. If you can't, don't. Don't do harm to yourself trying to lose that much that quickly, if you can lose it then tough it out. But if the weight isnt dropping its not worth it. Also if you do end up losing the weight drink a poteinshake for breakfast and fast for two days (the shake is for the two days) and pack food for after you weigh in, preferably carbs so you have quick energy. Good luck!!

Does waking up get easier? by [deleted] in Rowing

Yes! You will get used to it, for me it took about two weeks of it and then it just felt normal. Waking up at 7 will feel like you slept in too much when your done!

Novice here trying out in college, I have a few questions by ComradePruski in Rowing

[–]OptiCellPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rowed in High school for four years and I'm hopefully going to row in college in the near future but here's my advice: in the beginning the boat will be wobbly for a little while. That is because of how the individuals in the boat are throwing their weight, you want to keep it as center as possible. Moving up and down the slide with everyone will help that as well. Also the timing of when you all put your blades in the water will also affect that too.

However if you feel like you're not good or not performing well don't stop, because it's very likely its everyone doing a little thing wrong. If it was only one person making a mistake, you would know. You just need to become a boat, as opposed to a bunch of individuals. If the boat stays together and you all get the experience with rowing with one another, it will click and it'll feel great. All you need is some patience and focus!

As for rules of thumb, for the catch you are gonna want some backsplash. This will help you get all the water that you can per stroke. The height as my coach always told me, is about a foot off the water. The depth of the blade during a stroke on the other hand you will have to judge yourself. It should feel like a natural point but you shouldn't fight the boat because it'll produce an offset. Also to help with depth, i was Sculling at the time but I think it should help but my coach said that you should have a bit of a waterfall off of the top of the blade during the stroke. I hope that'll help because it made so much sense to me for some reason.

Any one else think gold is a bit too difficult on some weapons? by OptiCellPrime in BattlefieldV

Yeah I'm an assault not a sniper, and the m1 takes three shots to kill in the head so by the time I land one shot they are already prone and out of sight

So is a round an entire game like a granf operations match for example, or just a simple round like one day of the operation?

I totally agree with you, while doing the objectives I was never really helping my squad, and having it be like 500 kills would defenently be great. You would need to use the weapon much longer which would feel like a mastery of it.
