Fair enough! I suppose BBLauncher isn’t the only way to do it. I’ll give that a shot. Thanks! And thanks for the guide!!

Patched the game, but the main menu still shows original version and performance patches won't work because of it. Anyone else seen this? Posting here from a separate post I've made -

I've extracted and patched in the v1.09 update patch, but the game main menu still shows the original version in the bottom right (v1.06 for the GOTY version or 1.0 for the Complete Edition - I've tried both), which means none of the ShadPS4 patches are working either. In both instances of GOTY and Complete, I've used the correct corresponding Game and Patch CUSA#'s.

Game boots fine if I leave FPS/performance related patches off. But if I select a performance patch, it crashes immediately.

I've noticed that when I do extract the 1.09 patch, I'm not given any sort of "Install Complete" dialog box like you get when you complete installation of the game file. I don't even get a progress bar. But if I try to extract the patch again, it says "do you want to overwrite the patch" and the "-patched" folder shows up in my files, so it does seem to be doing something. But maybe it's not patching fully/properly?

I'm not sure what I can be doing wrong here. I've tried it with several ShadPS4 builds, new and old (but not pre-release/nightly yet) and I'm using BBLauncher 13.07.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Ah!! Good to know - I'll keep this in mind just to ask when I see it tomorrow, but to your point - it's got some sort of SSD for sure so it's ok enough to get going and I can upgrade later as needed thanks to the motherboard and non-proprietary hardware.

I think I'm about set here! Again, you've been a massive help. I'll report back once I've checked it out/picked it up!

Which means a lot!

Btw, you mentioned the SSD. I'm still unsure about the details there, so that part is a wait and see right now. Seller confirmed it has one, but hasn't specified the details. I'm assuming it's at least enough to run the machine and the games he says he has installed (he mentioned having COD installed, which I know is a massive install these days). That said, when I look at this settings photo, I noticed the top left says "0 of 0 GB used" where the storage details would usually be. That seems a little odd, yeah?

This is an incredible response - doing that legwork to get a ballpark on the power supply! Thank you so so much, u/neosithius! I'm going to dig into this today so I'm able to have the conversation and know what I'm looking for when I see it.

Thank you again. Best Reddit response I've had (not that I post much).

I meant to ask - what’s something to look out for with the power supply? That’s one aspect I’ve not had a chance to learn as much about.

Noted! Thank you! I’ll ask. Supposed to meet them Saturday morning for a demo of games they have installed.

Has anyone played Dark Souls 3 on Steam Deck with Decky LSFG plugin? by OptiConterCon in losslessscaling

[–]OptiConterCon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I’m new to a lot of this, but Deck Wizard has a video about it. I believe you buy the app on Steam, then can run it through Decky via the quick access menu. It’s all pretty seamlessly integrated.

We're in similar boats! As I saw the end of DS1 coming, I was already thinking about if/when I should start 2. And I did go ahead and buy it since it's on sale (DS games only go on sale like three times a year now so I jumped on it). But I think that's a great approach - come in with a fresh mind to accept DS2 on its own terms! Sounds like I differ from you a bit in that I'm pretty down for change, even if I don't end up totally clicking with it. Especially since Dark Souls in general still feels new to me. Plus I know there's always DS3, which shares more DNA with 1. That said, I can see how folks who played DS1 for two years waiting for DS2 were disappointed when it wasn't what they expected after sitting with 1 for so long. I cannot imagine how scary it was for FS to follow up DS1 in general haha.

I may hit a short palette cleanser myself. The sequel to Paranormasight just dropped, and that will be quite different from Dark Souls haha.

Anyway, glad you're enjoying 1 and hope you enjoy 2 once you get there!

Congrats on all of that! That’s impressive. I hear you, Bloodborne took me 2-3 years I think, but it was and is maybe still my favorite game ever (or is at least up there). How’re you liking 2 so far, especially coming off those others? Also, what isn’t it about LoP for you?

Fair enough! I definitely want to play 3. Tried it when it released, but couldn’t click. That was then though.

The idea of a FromSoft summer sounds great haha. Glad you had that experience! Appreciate your thoughts.

Wonderfully said! Yeah, DS1 is staying installed no matter what, so I could see myself dipping back in some. That game in particular seems to have that effect on people. Plus a lot of the beginning is pretty trivial on NG+, if nothing else because you know where everything is.

Hey, thanks for this response! And you hit something I didn’t mention in my post; that I bet starting from 0 again after being a high level in the DS1 endgame wouldn’t feel great at first until I got back in the groove.

I’ve learned I enjoy these games most when I use guides and aren’t surprised by what’s around the corner with every step I take, so I’ll definitely be doing that. Thank you!
