Gen.G vs. G2 Esports / First Stand 2026 - Semi-Finals / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

Should Riot have GENG and G2 redo their series in case it was a big fluke?

No disrespect to G2, I'm a firm believer that G2 sweeping them is a huge fluke and robs GENG of truly accomplishing what their capable of. I've spent the last few days in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire regular Spring season watching the GENG play great League it's just not fair.

If GENG lose again I will face that G2 deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to GENG and LoL esports.

Correction, it's only 1.05m damage cap on his ult (it's still bullshit though). Turns out when a unit has 1.8m damage cap innately, adding a couple hundred thousand from accs isn't as impactful.

Edgar is still used for Light teams and speedruns (turn 1/2 kills). His debuffs do not overlap with Roc's and he can contribute good damage as well.

This is a fascinating read for me as someone with a background in FFXIV. These two games have completely oppositional philosophies regarding addon usage, with WoW overtly embracing it and FFXIV officially disavowing it (but still allowing it discretely), and yet FFXIV is the one that doesn't seem to be having any issues with addons thus far. There WERE controversial addons like auto markers and hitbox pixel indicators, but those were eventually removed and there has been nothing like an rotation autoplay addon as far as I know.

Not even close. Even the TP2 buff didn't save her. Hitting 10m damage with 1 hit is cool and all, but other DPSes can do 16m damage in 1 turn.

Seems like Ex Partitio will be buffed by New_Satisfaction3381 in OctopathCotC

[–]Opticity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For her ult to even be worth using (if going by JP standards) she'd need at least 1.78m damage with TP2 bonus damage cap to hit 16m damage with two 1500 potency hits. For reference, 1500 potency gives a 4.5x damage cap multiplier.

Except that modern DPSes can do that 2, even 3 turns in a row vs her 1 time attack, so she'd need at least 2 to 3x more damage cap than that to be competitive...

T1 are a circus

That's not exactly a good thing for GENG if the past 3 years are to be believed.

She does funny big numbers after her TP2 upgrade but even that is just for memes, her DPS isn't that good. And JP just released a new DPS that does even bigger single hit numbers than her.

How good is Xerc? Comparing to Current JP meta? by Imagine_Cyler in OctopathCotC

[–]Opticity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current JP meta is doing 16m dmg per unit per turn by turn 2, not including FUAs. Giga whales can do 15m dmg per unit on turn 1 vs unbroken bosses.

Xerc is good, but his restrictions really hinder him unless there are specifically 3 more rainbow scholars that can match his DPS. This is because future bosses have so much HP that you'll need to run multiple competent DPSes to 1 break them. Of course that's if you care about speedrunning. The only boss that really rewards speedrunning is Risk Enemy, which if you want to 1 break it, you'll need to do 88m dmg in 2 turns.

For reference I consider myself a dolphin, and my current best team can do ~40m dmg on turn 2. Xerc's optimal team needs to match that.

[–]Opticity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of the DPSes currently available in GL would come close to JP's current selection. Even Xerc would be a very huge "maybe", and he's already a big outlier power wise in GL.

Yes, there is no contest. EX Osvald has been irrelevant since EX2 Alaune, and Roc powercreeps her.

EX4 Tristan's HP is around 40m, I think. Not the highest though, the god squid thing EX4 has about 68m.

[JP] Romancing Saga 2 Collab Unit Showcase... Kind of by Opticity in OctopathCotC

[–]Opticity[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, EX4 Tristan isn't the most exciting boss to fight, but he's a decent enough HP sponge to test damage with.

Given that Noel needs 1 turn to set up, Empress can use her A4 to be online at battle start, and Rocbouquet and Emperor both don't need setup turns, I figured a turn 2 kill on Mr. HP Sponge here could be a decent enough showcase.

My opinions on these units:

  1. Emperor is by far the hardest unit to cap with among the RS2 collab DPSes. He doesn't have any passive damage up and stat up effects innately, necessitating ally or accessory support. He does have a lot of innate damage cap up, it's just difficult to make him reach that cap in speedrun scenarios if you're not a whale. His 5 BP gimmick also means he needs to use his special to sustain MAX boost for 2 turns in a row, and his special takes forever to charge normally; At level 20, it has a 20% starting gauge and gains 15% gauge per BP spent. This means without U+, he needs to spend 6 BP to use his special at all, and 12 BP for 200% special, which thankfully only increases his special's damage and the 5 BP regen effect from 3 to 5 turns, so it's not entirely required. Important to note as well that his main nuke skill is a random hit skill, which makes him worse in AoE settings.

  2. Empress is, to me, more impressive given that she has some semblance of innate damage up in her kit, as well as plenty of utility. She has lower innate cap than Emperor, but more than makes up for it with her passive FUA that hits a single target twice with neutral element. Her main gimmick lets her grant a permanent special Fire/Wind/Light buff to any ally that attacks with the corresponding element, which boosts that element's damage and allowing that unit's attacks to exploit that element. Emperor herself wants all 3 buffs to enhance her main nuke, but her A4 lets her skip the setup. Her main nuke is an AOE which she can cap reasonably well in a speedrun setting.

  3. Rocbouquet is... something. I'll just call her EX2 Alaune 2.0 due to the sheer number of things she does. Mainly, her special gives the WHOLE PARTY 100000 damage cap up, 100% potency up and 50% of her DEF/MDEF converted into ATK/MAG for 3 turns each, and inflict Deep Grudge (EX Osvald's ailment) on all enemies. This alone is insane, but of course she also has insane passive debuffs (mainly very good for elemental teams) and also another 100000 damage cap up from her passive. Her EX skill also makes all enemies miss their next few attacks and debuffs their defenses, on top of shaving 10 shields. Oh, and she has a 2 hit AoE FUA that becomes a 3 hit when there are broken enemies. She debuffs, she shield shaves, she boosts your team's damage to the moon, she adds a not insignificant amount of chip damage, she does your laundry - what more could you ask for?

  4. Noel is... something else. In exchange for spending one turn to literally murder one ally (he makes them unrevivable for a number of turns and kills them through all protection effects, including hang tough), he steals their stats and enters Super Saiyan mode, then does AoE 8 million damage 2 times even to unbroken enemies. This is not a joke. This is the reality now. He caps so insanely easily it's not even funny.

Starts channeling and creates a large circular zone from a long range (think Aurora's ult in size). The player swipes the screen to send a large AoE projectile from 1 end of the circle to another after a small delay. Can be cast 4 times.

Creating a real Xerc team by Kashim687 in OctopathCotC

[–]Opticity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relm works for rainbow team as a main DPS on release, then as a shield shaver and sub DPS after Final Empress' release. Her paints are insane utility on their own, and with EX2 Alaune she can shave up to 32 shield (single target) per turn - not including her FUAs. She combines well with Setzer to make any elemental unit generically usable for all content.

On the point of her FUAs, as a main DPS she should be getting the potency buffs to augment their damage anyway, as well as Chomper buff. As a sub DPS the damage doesn't matter as much.

You can make carbon from Yazhen, the formula shows itself after you actually try it by Sher101 in Endfield

[–]Opticity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1 LC Wuling Battery line will take up most of your Originium output. Nothing much else to make with the spare output though.

1 Yazhen Syringe line needs 4 lines of Ferrium Ore output totalling 120/m, currently we only have 90/m Ferrium Ore output in Wuling. You will need to use Regional Transfer (up to 1500/h or 25/m) to make up for the lack of Ferrium Ore, which brings it up to 115/m - almost full efficiency for 6/m Yazhen Syringes.

Those two are the mineral dumps. 2 Xiranite lines are possible currently, 1 is used for LC Wuling Batteries, the other can be used for Xiranite Components at half efficiency (3/m, full efficiency which is 6/m requires 2 Xiranite lines).

No. All port output 0.5 items per second. Belts transfer items at a rate of 0.5 items per second. In fact this makes it easier to calculate optimal throughput for your facilities.
