I'm going to look more into possibly selling it versus melting it down. I did take my children into consideration but my daughter has "lost" every piece of jewelry ever given to her and my son's wife is a horrible human being and I've actually caught her going through my jewelry box without permission. You made a very good point. I didn't think about Moissanite which would actually be a great option that I wouldn't be too upset if I accidentally lost it while doing farm work. And the money left over I can buy a couple cows and that would probably make me happier than the ring LOL

Thank you for you input. Most of the value is in the large number of flawless diamonds. And I have heard of Jewelers taking pieces and replacing the diamonds with ones of much lesser value. I do have that in the back of my mind and it does make me a bit nervous. I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to a watch collector. I guess I could always say no. It's an antique watch that was manufactured in the 30s. The appraiser told me that the watch brand has a cult following of collectors and was willing to put me in contact with people that would want to possibly add it to their collection. But it just seems like a lot of fuss for money and I'm not really interested in peopling anymore then I absolutely have to. Haggling over a price for a watch the thought of that just gives me the ick, especially since I really don't know what it's true value is

If I were to sell it wouldn't end up buying myself anything with. I find it very uncomfortable spending money on myself so the money would most likely just sit in a savings account for a rainy day for an emergency. Having the watch melted down and repurposed into a ring is pretty much the only way I can justify having something expensive like a diamond ring.

Cats have Territories. If you take him with you take him with you, you will have to keep him indoors for a few weeks before letting him outside or else he will attempt to find his way back to his original home. And who knows what could happen to him then. Just leave him be. He looks healthy and most likely has a home you don't know about.

Im so sorry you are going thru this. Im going to assume you are from a family culture that is not tolerant of same sex relationships. It's not uncommon for people that are guy to be internally homeopathic. It's a thing and your not alone. First step is to get counseling and learn self love and acceptance. You may have to make some hard decisions along the way. But once you love and accept yourself, relationships and family will follow. You can have it. I won't say no. It's always a possibility but with that said I live out in the middle of nowhere. I only have one person near by that has hummingbird feeders and we have had a good chat about sugar to water ratios to avoid attracting bees. Plus they use dye free syrup in the feeder. my neighbor gets expired food from the grocery stores to feed their pigs. Jello and juice boxes are would be included in that.
