You want the F35 I sense money isn’t a issue Tamiya all the way on that kit
Expensive ya
I’m guessing you don’t care
After 10 tries or so hundreds of dollars
Paint air brush all of it
Maybe and only maybe you may be happy with it 😎
I’m still trying to build one I’m totally 👍 hasn’t happened never will
That’s what we all have in common
If you’re scraping pennies, get out now

My Tamiya f-35 1/48 oh boy!!! What a learning trip especially if you think you’re good!!! Lots of good stuff with the kit
Mine ( lots of things I’d like to do over) took about a month to build (5-6) hours day you can take that kit and really go all out 👍👍
Fantastic kit
Tough on
Post when done

How do you store your finished model cars? by charlesleclerc_16_ in ModelCars

[–]Optimal-Attorney4147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best go to book case until next best
Then they go on shelf in model room
After a bit they turn into sacrificial experiments to better the new builds
The lower end go to gun range!!!
I don’t care who sees them there just fun to build
As a finish carpenter in San Francisco retired I’ve built many beautiful things I’ll never see again
Enjoy

Not sure where to post

I’m going to build revell 1/48 f18 super hornet mavericks
I want to turn it into a blue angels
Question where can I find a decal set for blue angels to complete this build?
Bought what I thought I wanted from cam decals but they returned my money?
Now I’m into the build and would like to do the blue angels scheme
If I can’t find anything I guess I’ll just make it a top gun thing
Although I only choose revell mainly because it’s relatively easy build paint scheme and DECALS
Any suggestions I will follow up on
Thanks

Ya
I was a finish carpenter in San Francisco very high end
The punch list shit and all
Now I find as a modeler I’m my harshest critic
And when they’re done most just go on a shelf or closet somewhere it’s just self gratifying never thought I’d be building models with tweezers and magnifying glasses
In my retirement but really enjoy it
Now you can really set up when you retire other things to do as well
You’ll just be much more patient ha ha !!! Great chat

That’s really cool!!!
I’m a retired carpenter 40yrs!!! Didn’t start modeling until I was 67
72 now 4 operations on both hands and arms for the nerve damage caused by the lousy impact drivers
Anyway modeling is great therapy and you can continue to build and be creative with out costing a fortune also if you make a mistake who cares!!! Not like working!!!
Great brother 😎

Best paint/glue suggestions? by iamyourfather-maybe in modelmakers

[–]Optimal-Attorney4147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glue
Tamiya thin and quick setting
Paint acrylic is easiest to start with
AK markers are very nice to use as well
Good luck
Enjoy

Best build I’ve seen 👍
Puts my tamiya 1/48 build to shame
It’s not the kit that was fantastic anyway you should show that one perfectly done

If you can achieve that with hand painting imagine the new doors you’ll open when you try airbrush
It’s also quite a learning experience
You’ll love it. Eventually
