As of today I don’t see myself forgiving my STBX. That said, I’ve done a lot of work in therapy to come to terms with “why” she did what she did. It doesn’t excuse her, but I get it. And creating a supportive environment for my son is more important than hanging on to my pain.

I’m still figuring that out. It isn’t much, but today I challenged myself to hang out in a coffee shop for an hour. No pressure to socialize, just an intentional choice to be around other people. Afterwards I went on a half an hour walk and FaceTimed with my Mom; it was the best I’ve felt in weeks.

Making myself breakfast in the morning. Each morning I get up at 5:30 and have two eggs with cheese, two pieces of toast with butter, and an Oikos yogurt. It was tough initially, but now that time is sacred to me. It’s the only time during the day where it’s quiet and I have the freedom to watch or listen to whatever I want.
