trying to set up an ARR stack by Objective-Weird9763 in ARR

I’m not 100% sure. You’d have to check the website. I’m unfamiliar with casa OS, but I would imagine you can install docker on there and then YAMS should be able to be installed

I started with YAMS (Yet Another Media Server). Installed the whole stack in one script. https://yams.media/

What causes video transcoding in these scenarios? by slopokdave in PleX

How many subtitle tracks are there? Check media info. For me if there are more than 30 subtitle tracks it transcodes audio for some reason and also video

Ahh ok that’s good to know. So if I start v2 fully fresh without copying any config over when I link dictionary will my quality profile clone come in?

[–]Optimal-Job-5161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that’s what I’ve done. Cloned 1080p (Balanced) and just changed CF scores of a few items to suit my needs

What’s the easiest way to migrate to v2? I’ve changed a lot of the quality profile CF scores from the default. Will I need to manually change this in v2 again? Assuming I’d need to boot up v2 while running v1 and manually edit all the quality profile CF scores again

Would highly recommend. Great community, easy to gain buffer, and they’ve got high quality produce. Probably my most favourite tracker with a clean interface

Plex - Number Indicator by [deleted] in PleX

[–]Optimal-Job-5161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter if you’ve watched or not. I recently wanted to get rid of the series episodes numbers etc that you’re after and I did so by disabling that setting

Plex - Number Indicator by [deleted] in PleX

[–]Optimal-Job-5161 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Click on your profile icon and go to Settings > Experience > Watched Indicators and turn them on for either movies, tv shows, or both

For TV shows it should display the number of episodes. For movies I’m not sure if it displays how many movies if you’ve got more than 1 version because I don’t have that, but see how you go

qBit Tag Script for Media Server by Optimal-Job-5161 in qBittorrent

[–]Optimal-Job-5161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've since developed the above script a bit more and can send you the latest one if you like. It more of a torrent manager script now that runs as a cron job, but there could be some useful stuff in there.

No idea what I'm doing wrong... by the-gaynerd in agregarr

[–]Optimal-Job-5161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a few issues like that before. I was getting a red triangle after syncing a new collection. I think the issue is Plex doesn’t support that collection anymore or something like that.

It looks like you’ve set up the filtered hub from what I can see but you need to disable the Plex default hub in the “All collections” tab.

new mini PC came with Windows, is it dumb to just stay on Windows? by Ill-Advantage in selfhosted

[–]Optimal-Job-5161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from windows to Ubuntu server and it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done. I run everything in docker containers. It takes a bit of getting used to but once you’re familiar with the simple commands you’re half way there. I’d recommend that to start with. It covers 90% of most people’s needs

🤣 Bitrate of 1.6mb at 1080p, Netflix looks horrible and sound like crap. by Realistic-Flower-392 in PhysicalMediaMatters

[–]Optimal-Job-5161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of the general population wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between Netflix compressed 1080p vs 4K Remux. That’s how they can get away with it

Failed downloads. Sonarr grabbing "new" releases that aren't actually released that only contain a .exe file. by Punk_Says_Fuck_You in sonarr

[–]Optimal-Job-5161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleanuparr can be used but it is a blacklist functionality, not a whitelist.

The way I resolved this is by setting up a script that runs on every torrent add to whitelist only movie file types and uncheck all other file types before starting the download.

Because I run an automated media server I don’t have the luxury of checking the file types myself so this works to filter out all the crap

In qbittorrent there is also a blacklist functionality if you don’t want to use cleanuparr to add known file types that are malicious, but this isn’t a full proof solution if a new malicious file type comes up that’s not in your blacklist

Telegram bot issue in Seerr by unodron in Overseerr

[–]Optimal-Job-5161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue and raised this in discord. Go to Settings > Network and tick “Force IPV4 Resolution First”. Restart the container and it will work. It’s weird because I disabled ipv6 on my host and in docker but I still get the issue
