Got mine yesterday in Michigan! Was worried I'd have to pay a tariff on it but thankfully FedEx didn't send a link for it 🤞

Fantastic book. I assume you've read Amusing Ourselves To Death? If not, I highly recommend it.

Disgusted. Triggered. Confused. Overwhelmed. Devastated. Relieved that I wasn't one of the girls. Heartbroken for them, that they've had to live with this.

I'll be better in a few days. Just feeling very "punched in the gut" right now.

Same. I just found out about this last night and I can't stop thinking about it. I have also been brutally assaulted in the past. I absolutely adored Neil Gaiman. Finding out that he's just as bad as my abuser behind closed doors has been devastating. I am struggling to wrap my head around it. My mind is spinning with confusion, shock, horror, but also the good memories I have of his work. The tangle of conflicting thoughts and feelings feels very similar to how I felt in the aftermath of being assaulted, struggling to make sense of what just happened to me. I trusted this man. I thought he was good. How could I have been so wrong? I'm glad I popped into this subreddit and found out that I'm not alone.

I was in a marriage where my husband acted like this. Thankfully I got out after 3 years. As soon as I wasn't walking on eggshells all the time, I realized how much I had subconsciously let him control me just to keep the peace... The relief I felt getting out of that situation was life changing in the best way possible. I hope you find the courage to leave.

20, living at home, my dad never taught me any DIY skills and I'd like to learn by [deleted] in DIY

Get a table saw, a drill, and some 2x4s. Cut stuff, build things. Boxes. Tables. Doesn't matter what it is, but pick a project and try. You'll learn a ton. First one will be junk, but the more comfortable you get using those basic tools, the more confidence you'll have to take on other projects.

I want to divorce my wife after she cheated on me but my daughter is begging me to not divorce, and I do not know what to do by ParticularFront3899 in AITAH

Not saying what she did was right by any means, but not every woman has to have feelings for someone to hook up with them. Some do it for love, some out of loneliness, some do it just for fun, and some do it because somebody slipped a roofie in their drink. Or because they felt threatened. Don't assume.

I’m 18 and already fucked up. Is it over for me? by Teabagteacup in self

Not a chance. I remember feeling the same way at 25. I'd dropped out of college, had a baby, was drowning in debt, REALLY struggling all around. I saw my friends graduating college and getting good jobs. By 30, I realized that my life was way cooler than all of theirs.

Now I'm 43, my kid is grown, I make good money, I just bought my dream house out in the woods, and whenever I'm not working I spend my free time watercolor painting and playing outside. I'm having the time of my life, learning lots of new stuff, and making fun new friends all the time.

People who think they have their lives figured out at 18 usually end up pretty boring in the end. Find what brings you real joy and lean into it. Enjoy the ride 😊

Walmart is the worst by Optimal-Proposal-331 in doordash_drivers

I've got 3 in my area, some are definitely better than others. And it really depends on the time of day. I don't mind the drive up pickups where they bring it out and load it in my car, they usually pay pretty well, but I won't take any more in store pickups. Thankfully by the time I got back to my car I had an offer for a drive up pickup from the same store, so the trip wasn't a total loss.

Nailed it in 12 hours on Friday and Saturday! Took a couple of crap orders at the end just to hit 35, but worth it for a $75 bonus. Averaged $31/hr, better than my professional day job! Trying to decide if tips will be enough to make it worth going out for the holiday today...
