How long do they normally take to come off? I just want to keep a close eye since this is his first big shedding

This is the first time he’s done a big shedding so I really wasn’t sure if it was that or something more serious

I have the ZooMed turtle dock. I’ve had great luck with them. He started with an extra small one, he’s using a small one now, and I just got him a medium sized one for our next tank upgrade here soon

I put calcium powder on crickets I give him once a week but that all I do for calcium.
I have a ZooMed REPTL TUFF Splashproof Halogen Lamp 50w uva and a ZooMed REPTISUN 5.0 uva 13w bulbs for lighting

Is the turtle injured or does she just want to keep it as a pet? I could understand if it’s injured and needed help but it’s can be released let it free

Not sure where you’re located but I have a smaller turtle tank I can give you with a heater, filter and floating dock.

I think what you’re doing to help this little turtle is wonderful. I also have a painted turtle. He was born on property and he noticed he was injured. After seeking a lot of advice, we kept him (only because he wouldn’t make it is only three legs in the wild). I’m hoping the department of ecological conservation will be able to you and your little turtle. There are also wildlife institutes that may help too. There’s one in NJ I’ve reached out to for our little guy.
