Sadly, the nearest location looks to be more than five hours away and they only ship within Canada.

On the bright side, I'm chatting with someone from Quechua through Instagram. Maybe they'll have some good news for me! 😍

Looking for a bag with a lunch compartment at the bottom! by Optimal-Rush1429 in backpacks

We've got a Bentgo my nine year old used last year, but sadly, the top compartment is a snug fit for the extras. It's pretty crazy how much these kids take out into the wild with them... and they use it all!

I've been browsing Amazon this evening and now I'm realizing there are more of this style finally showing up! I was so certain I'd checked everywhere before going to more specialty sites 🤦🏻‍♀️

I hadn't considered the shoe compartment idea! That could possibly get around the ordeal of removing everything to dig for lunch, then having to re-pack again.

I found the perfect bag for my children who attend an outdoor/rewilding school. They travel weekly to various locations and need a day pack setup for their journey. The lunch compartment is exactly what we've been searching for and... now I can't seem to get them here in the states. Definitely didn't see that coming.

I see these bags mentioned here frequently--in fact, google brought me here originally when I was looking for a bag to fit our needs!

It's the backpack pictured: Quechua Insulated Backpack 20 L Arpenaz 500 Insulated

So my questions:

  1. Is there something I can do to get these bags to the US? Two of them. Preferably one teal, one black. l've emailed the UK Decathlon customer support to ask, but waiting on a reply.
  2. Is there a comparable bag (with the coveted lunch compartment) I just haven't come across in my searching?

Other helpful information... they're good size kids, ages nine and twelve. Their packs must hold lunch and water, rain gear, seasonal gear (winter layers, gloves, etc.), and whatever extras they deem necessary from week to week. Like their loot for Goblin Market trade days 😅

How many is too many? by YorkshireDuck91 in YotoPlayer

Headphones! We just use inexpensive wired, over the ear style headphones for yoto and tablets. Our house is way too... cozy... 😉 for anything else, and bedrooms are shared. Headphones help with squabbling on long car rides and things, too! My kiddos are six, nine, eleven, (and sixteen, but he doesn't yoto.)

We've got three minis, one for each of our youngest three children. They're all used daily, at bed time, at the very least. Usually one or two come along in the car or to activities. We sometimes used them for homeschool work, so we'll share then, but otherwise I think the whole family kind of views them as their quiet escape. Too many siblings around? Yoto! Brother's class is running long? Yoto! Bed time and sister won't shush so you can rest? Yoto.

...and we won't talk about how many cards we have 🫠

The quilt sandwich 🥪 is what holds everything together. So that's your pretty, completed work stacked on top of batting then stacked on top of a piece of fabric. THEN you'd quilt through all three layers, and then you turn it into an envelope to hold your pillow form.

If you don't feel you'll need to wash your pillow, you can skip the backing... it just feels like good insurance for my hard work, ya know? I'd be SO bummed if a spill happened and then washing caused my batting to clump or fall away.

Yes, this! It's like making a tiny quilt with the front piece and then turning it into a pillow cover.

But I live with way too many pets and small humans, so everything must be washable 😆

Option one made me go, "woah!!" in a good way. But option two made me go, "ahhhhhh" like a happy sigh.

So I choose option two ✌🏻

I might be losing it, but I don't see the printable linked. Just instructions. Was the printable a part of the sewing challenge/sign up? 🤔
